We talked about loyalty, family, greed, and what happens when political power becomes a vehicle for personal enrichment.

We also got into the absurdity of Republicans pretending to own “family values” while Trump skips his own son’s wedding, spends his nights posting about Stephen Colbert, and lets his family cash in across the globe.

Here are some moments you don’t want to miss:

[00:01:03] We break down Trump skipping Don Jr.’s wedding — and why the way he talks about his own kids says everything about who he is.

[00:05:17] We get into the emotional side of the Trump family dynamic, the cycle of abuse and validation, and why power without love creates deeply broken people.

[00:09:12] We unpack the “trickle-down corruption” inside Trumpworld — foreign deals, crypto schemes, Pentagon contracts, and billion-dollar pay-to-play politics.

[00:13:40] We talk about the Qatar jet controversy, national security risks, and why this level of corruption is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern American politics.

[00:16:51] We shift into solutions: banning gerrymandering, overturning Citizens United, restoring institutional trust, and building a coalition strong enough to actually fight back.

At its core, this episode is about what kind of country we want to be. He promised people he would end forever wars, expose corruption, release the Epstein files, lower costs for working Americans, and break a system that millions of voters believed had stopped working for them.

Instead, a lot of those voters now look around and see another Middle East conflict spiraling out of control, an economy that feels brutal for ordinary people, connected insiders getting richer, and Republicans demanding absolute loyalty to Trump no matter what happens.

That’s where the frustration inside MAGA is coming from.

And I think Democrats misunderstand this when they reduce every Trump voter to being stupid or evil or brainwashed. A lot of these people were genuinely angry about corruption, economic inequality, endless war, and institutions that felt completely disconnected from normal life in America. Trump tapped into that frustration better than any politician in decades.

The problem is that instead of dismantling that system, he increasingly became a version of it.

That’s why figures like Tim Dillon, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and even parts of the online MAGA ecosystem are starting to fracture away from Trump over issues like Iran, the Epstein files, and government corruption. These are people whose audiences bought into the idea that Trump was different, and now they’re struggling to explain why his presidency increasingly looks like the same Republican politics they thought they were rejecting.

And honestly, the Massie situation tells you everything you need to know about what the Republican Party has become.

Massie is not some liberal hero. He’s a conservative libertarian from Kentucky who voted with Republicans the overwhelming majority of the time. But the moment he publicly challenged Trump over Iran, spending, and the Epstein issue, he became politically disposable.

That’s because the modern Republican Party is no longer really organized around policy or ideology. It’s organized around personal loyalty to Donald Trump.

And while MAGA influencers celebrate Trump consolidating control over the party, I think they’re missing the bigger picture entirely. Yes, Trump dominates Republican primaries. But at the same time, independent voters are drifting away from him, younger voters are exhausted by the chaos, and even parts of his own coalition are becoming disillusioned with what his movement has turned into.

That matters politically.

Because Americans are deeply frustrated right now, and not just with Republicans. People feel like the economy isn’t working for them. They feel like institutions are dishonest. They feel like politicians spend more time performing outrage online than improving anyone’s life. And they’re tired of watching powerful people profit while ordinary families struggle to afford housing, groceries, healthcare, and basic stability.

That frustration created Trump in the first place.

Mid-rant note: this section is sponsored by Ground News.

I’ve started paying more attention to how the same story can feel completely different depending on who’s reporting it. Ground News makes that easy to see by showing coverage from across the political spectrum and pointing out what certain outlets leave out.

My team and I use it because it helps cut through the noise.

If you want a clearer view of what’s actually going on, check out Ground News →

Give it a try!

Subscribe

And if Democrats don’t understand the underlying anger driving this moment, the country is eventually going to produce somebody even more dangerous — somebody smarter, more disciplined, and more effective than Trump ever was.

That’s why I take people like Tucker Carlson seriously even though I disagree with most of what they believe. Democrats made the mistake of dismissing Trump as a joke because he looked ridiculous and sounded ridiculous. Meanwhile, he was building a direct emotional connection with millions of Americans who felt abandoned by both parties.

The warning signs are there again now.

People are desperate for authenticity. They want leaders who sound like they actually understand what life feels like outside elite political circles. They want somebody willing to acknowledge that the system is broken instead of constantly pretending everything is fine while costs explode and trust in institutions collapses.

And whichever political movement figures out how to channel that frustration into something real is going to shape the next era of American politics.

Because Trump was never the root problem. He was the product of a country where millions of people lost faith that the system was working for them anymore.

And until somebody actually fixes that, this cycle is just going to keep producing angrier voters, more distrust, more extremism, and politicians who are better and better at weaponizing despair against a country that already feels like it’s falling apart.

Whichever movement restores that without exploiting people’s anger is going to define the future of this country.

P.S. We got personal. We got fired up. This conversation hit a nerve because people are exhausted watching the rich rig the rules while everyone else gets left behind.

This is one of those conversations where you can feel the frustration boiling over — but also the hope that we can still fix this if enough people decide they’re done accepting the status quo.

Here’s what we got into:

[00:01:03] We break down Elon Musk’s alleged “lottery” scheme during the election and how billionaire money distorts democracy in real time.

[00:04:35] I explain why the Republican establishment is trying to purge Thomas Massie — and what it says about loyalty, war, and corruption in Washington.

[00:07:33] We talk about building unlikely coalitions to stop authoritarianism before it’s too late — even when we deeply disagree on almost everything else.

[00:16:30] Adam and I react to Jeff Bezos praising Trump and unpack how billionaires manipulate politics, media, and public perception to protect their power.

[00:21:40] We get into AI, collapsing job security, the loss of community in America, and why younger generations are inheriting an economy designed to squeeze them dry.

This conversation gets at something people can feel every single day now — the rules don’t seem to apply equally anymore. When billionaires can buy influence, shape media narratives, and protect their own interests while working people struggle to stay afloat, trust in the entire system starts to collapse. Katie explains why there’s effectively no oversight and why taxpayers should be furious.

[00:05:22] Mike talks openly about spending hundreds of thousands defending himself from Trump-aligned investigations — and jokes about filing his own claim against the government.

[00:09:42] Katie lays out why Democrats should force Republicans to publicly defend this slush fund and make them answer for it heading into the midterms.

[00:14:38] The conversation shifts to billionaires, political cowardice, and why this moment demands people actually pick a side instead of playing both ends against the middle.

This episode is really about something bigger than one settlement or one scandal. It’s about what happens when corruption stops hiding. When the grift becomes public policy. And when powerful people start acting like democracy itself is negotiable. If you’ve been feeling exhausted, angry, or overwhelmed watching all of this unfold, you’re not alone. compassion, and respect for what it costs somebody to stand up publicly and tell the truth about who they are in a country that still punishes people for being different.

That’s why Barkley stands out right now.

Not because he’s an NBA legend. Not because he’s rich. Not because he’s one of the funniest people on television.

He stands out because he keeps choosing decency even when there’s a cost attached to it. And right now, that’s become weirdly uncommon.

We live in this era where so many celebrities, athletes, and public figures are terrified of upsetting anyone. Everything is filtered through PR teams, audience analytics, and brand protection. Everybody wants to appear compassionate right up until compassion becomes inconvenient.

But Barkley keeps saying things anyway.

And in this climate, that kind of honesty stands out.

Especially because this isn’t the first time he’s done it.

Just a few months ago MAGA influencers were demanding he get fired after he defended immigrants and criticized the cruelty of Trump-era immigration politics. Steve Bannon publicly attacked him. Right-wing media personalities melted down online. The MAGA outrage machine immediately went after him because that’s what happens now anytime somebody with a massive platform publicly sides with immigrants, LGBTQ people, or anybody conservatives have decided should be treated as disposable.

That’s the ecosystem we’re living in right now. And Charles Barkley keeps refusing to submit to it.

That’s the part I respect most because he doesn’t actually have to do any of this.

The guy is one of the most famous athletes alive. He’s rich beyond comprehension. He could spend the rest of his life golfing, cashing checks, and avoiding controversy entirely. Nobody would blame him.

Instead, he keeps using his platform to defend people who are being targeted — LGBTQ people, immigrants, trans people, and basically anybody the modern outrage machine decides should be mocked, demonized, or dehumanized this week.

And honestly, more celebrities should act like this.

Because if you build a massive platform in America — if millions of people buy your jerseys, watch your games, support your endorsements, and make you rich beyond imagination — then you actually do have a responsibility to use that influence for something bigger than protecting your own brand.

That’s what Barkley understands that so many public figures don’t.

What makes him different from a lot of celebrities is that he doesn’t sound like somebody trying to win points. He sounds like somebody reacting instinctively to cruelty.

That authenticity is powerful because people can tell the difference between somebody performing empathy and somebody actually feeling it.

And honestly, I think that’s part of why the right gets so angry at him specifically. Barkley breaks the caricature they want to sell people. He’s not some Hollywood actor reading activist slogans off cue cards. He’s not some academic speaking in sanitized political language.

He’s Charles Barkley — this larger-than-life basketball legend who talks like a normal person and still arrives at the conclusion that treating people with dignity is good actually.

That drives these people insane.

Mid-rant note: this section is sponsored by Ground News.

I’ve started paying less attention to which headlines are the loudest and more attention to how differently the same story gets presented depending on where you read it.

Most news coverage doesn’t just report events — it filters them. Different outlets emphasize different angles, ignore different facts, and frame stories in ways that shape how we interpret them before we’ve even had time to think critically ourselves.

That’s why I’ve been using Ground News.

My team and I use it because context matters, especially when coverage starts feeling a little too uniform.

See every side of every story with Ground News →

Try it today!

Subscribe now

Because the modern MAGA movement increasingly depends on convincing Americans that compassion itself is weakness. That empathy is fake. That cruelty is honesty. That bullying is strength.

And Barkley completely rejects that worldview just by being himself.

He’s been doing this for years, by the way.

People forget Barkley publicly campaigned against Roy Moore in Alabama because he thought Moore was dangerous and tied to extremism. He’s criticized Republicans repeatedly over the years. He’s called out racism, homophobia, and political corruption. Every single time he does it, there’s this wave of backlash from people who believe celebrities should only use their platform when it benefits conservatives.

Otherwise they should “shut up and dribble.”

Funny how that only works in one direction.

Conservatives only seem to hate political celebrities when those celebrities are defending marginalized people. When athletes promote nationalism, Trump, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, or right-wing grievance politics, suddenly activism is perfectly acceptable.

The rule is actually much simpler than that: conservative speech is allowed, humanitarian speech gets punished.

And moments like this have a bigger impact than people think.

When Barkley says gay people deserve respect, somebody hears that who desperately needs to hear it. When he tells trans people he loves them, some terrified kid sees that clip and feels a little less alone. When he speaks up for immigrants or marginalized people or anybody being targeted by the mob, he reminds people that decency still exists in public life.

And look — I know some people roll their eyes at this stuff. They think celebrity opinions don’t matter.

But culture matters. Representation matters. Visibility matters.

There’s a reason authoritarian movements spend so much time trying to silence artists, athletes, journalists, comedians, and entertainers. Culture shapes how people see each other. It shapes what becomes normal. It shapes who gets treated as human.

That’s why the backlash against Barkley is always so intense. He’s using a massive platform to normalize empathy in a political movement that increasingly survives on cruelty.

And honestly, we need more of that.

We need more public figures willing to risk backlash instead of treating moral courage like a branding exercise. We need more people willing to defend vulnerable communities before it becomes socially safe to do so. And we desperately need more people who understand that having influence comes with responsibility.

And the fact that basic empathy now feels rebellious in American public life says something deeply broken about the culture MAGA has built around outrage, intimidation, and cruelty.

That’s why Charles Barkley resonates with so many people right now.

Because he’s one of the few celebrities still willing to use his platform like a human being instead of a corporation.

P.S. We talked about Trump’s overnight posting spirals, why Democrats can’t substitute messaging for action, how outside groups are trying to buy this Michigan Senate race, and what it actually looks like to govern in a way that improves people’s lives.

Here’s what we got into:

[00:01:07] Mallory reacts to Trump’s overnight posting spree and what it means when the President of the United States feels detached from reality.

[00:12:00] We dig into the flood of AIPAC-aligned, crypto, and corporate money pouring into Democratic primaries — and why voters are sick of politicians who chase headlines instead of delivering results.

[00:15:26] Mallory breaks down how Michigan Democrats actually passed universal pre-K, school meals, voting rights protections, abortion rights, and affordable housing after flipping the legislature.

[00:24:17] We talk about the Epstein files, institutional corruption, and why Americans increasingly believe there’s one system for the rich and another for everybody else.

[00:30:01] The conversation closes on accountability — what Democrats must do not only to rebuild the economy and restore trust in government, but to ensure there are real consequences for the abuses and corruption of the Trump era.

This episode is about more than Trump. It’s about why people feel abandoned, why institutions are failing, and what it would actually take to restore trust in democracy. If you’ve been frustrated watching Democrats confuse messaging for action, or wondering why voters keep turning to chaos out of desperation, this conversation gets right to the heart of it.

And if you value honest conversations like this, help me keep building them.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid

Welcome to the Party, Pal! — Joe Walsh and Mike Nellis

Welcome to the Party, Pal! with Mike Nellis & Joe Walsh — Fridays 12PM ET

Mike Nellis

Endless Urgency is always free to read, but this community only grows because people choose to invest in it. I think it turned into one of my favorite conversations we’ve had in a while. We got personal. We talked music, movies, sports, death, spicy ramen, old cargo shorts, and why cats are absolutely not to be trusted. Somewhere in the middle of all that, we also talked about burnout, identity, memory, and the weird stuff that keeps us human while the world feels like it’s spinning off its axis.

Here’s what we got into:

[00:01:05] Joe and I ditch the politics for a minute and dive into the “Colbert Questionnaire” — starting with a heated debate over smash burgers, bagels, and the perfect sandwich.

[00:04:31] We get unexpectedly real about burnout, political outrage culture, and why neither of us wants to spend every waking second screaming into the void.

[00:11:26] Obama autographs, Cubs memories, mortality, Catholic guilt, and what we actually think happens when we die.

[00:14:01] Tombstone, John Wick, superhero movies, Harry Potter, and the movies we’d literally want buried with us.

[00:23:30] We close things out talking Van Morrison, Green Day, Elton John, first concerts, and the music that still feels stitched into who we are.

This episode is lighter than usual, but honestly, maybe that’s exactly why it matters. There’s still urgency in it — just a different kind. The kind that reminds us politics isn’t everything. We’re still people underneath all of this. We still carry memories, obsessions, fears, comfort movies, old songs, and weird little rituals that keep us grounded.

And I think conversations like this matter more than people realize.

If you value honest conversations that feel human in the middle of all the noise, help me keep building this thing.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid

Trump’s Obama Obsession, Texas Panic, and the Democratic Identity Crisis — with Mike Nellis & Don Lemon

Mike Nellis & Don Lemon LIVE — Wednesdays 12PM ET

Mike Nellis

Endless Urgency is always free to read, but this community only grows because people choose to invest in it. We got personal, we got philosophical, and we laughed a lot too.

There’s something revealing about the way Trump talks about Obama. You can feel the resentment. The insecurity. He’s a former Trump aide. He’s deeply embedded in the MAGA world. He got married at Trump’s golf club with Donald Trump in attendance. Trump endorsed him. Elevated him. Helped build his career.

And now, after years of allegations from multiple women, after reports of violent behavior, after photographs of bruises, after accusations that incidents happened in front of a child, the Republican Party still closes ranks around him because proximity to Trump acts like a shield against accountability.

That’s the real story.

Because this keeps happening.

Over and over and over again.

Every few months there’s another Republican operative, another MAGA influencer, another congressman, another Trump ally accused of abuse, harassment, violence, coercion, or intimidation—and the response inside the movement is almost always the same:

Attack the accuser.

Question the victim.

Blame the media.

Protect the powerful man.

Move on.

And I need people to understand something: that culture doesn’t emerge accidentally. It starts at the top.

Donald Trump has spent his entire public life teaching everyone around him that consequences are optional if you’re rich enough, loyal enough, or useful enough. That’s the operating principle of MAGA. Accountability is for other people.

That’s why this feels bigger than one congressman.

Because if allegations like these had emerged about somebody outside the cult, Republicans would be screaming for resignations 24/7. Fox News would run wall-to-wall coverage. Every right-wing influencer on earth would suddenly become a champion for women and children.

But when it’s one of their guys?

Silence.

Or worse, excuses.

And honestly, part of what makes this story so unbelievable is the fact that even having a United States senator as your father apparently still isn’t enough protection from this culture. Think about that for a second. If the daughter of a Republican senator can allegedly be treated this way while the party circles the wagons around the accused, what message does that send to every other woman watching this unfold?

Because that’s the other thing that keeps eating at me here: they don’t even protect their own.

This is one of their own families. One of their own senators. One of their own daughters. And even then, the instinct inside this movement is still to defend the powerful man connected to Trump instead of demanding accountability.

How broken do you have to be as a political movement for that to become normal?

And what keeps bothering me most about this story is the child.

Because according to these reports, some of these alleged incidents happened in front of a two-year-old little girl.

As a parent, I can’t shake that.

I cannot imagine putting fear into a child like that. I cannot imagine creating an environment where a kid grows up watching violence, chaos, screaming, intimidation — whatever allegedly happened behind those doors. That kind of trauma doesn’t just disappear because adults decide to spin the headlines later.

And this is why accountability matters early.

And honestly, the part of this story that scares me the most isn’t even necessarily what we know — it’s what we don’t know.

Every time somebody powerful is accused of abuse, you have to wonder how many other people stayed silent out of fear. How many staffers, exes, friends, or victims convinced themselves it wasn’t worth speaking up because they knew the machine would protect him anyway?

That’s the pattern with powerful men inside movements like this. The public allegations are usually just the surface. The truly disturbing part is wondering how much behavior never sees daylight because the people involved don’t have the resources, platform, or protection to fight back.

Because systems that protect powerful men create more dangerous men.

If somebody learns over and over again that money, status, political connections, and intimidation can save them from consequences, the behavior escalates. That’s true in politics. That’s true in Hollywood. That’s true everywhere.

And frankly, that’s been the story of Trumpism from the beginning.

The movement rewards cruelty.

It rewards dominance.

It rewards intimidation.

It rewards people willing to bully, humiliate, threaten, and steamroll others in pursuit of power.

Then everybody acts surprised when the people attracted to that culture turn out to be abusive in private too.

Really?

What exactly did people think was going to happen?

Because this isn’t just about one “bad apple.” It’s about a political ecosystem where morality is entirely conditional. If you help the movement win, almost anything gets rationalized away.

And before somebody says, “Well, both parties have bad people,” yes—obviously. Throw every abuser out. Every single one. I don’t care what letter is next to their name.

But only one political movement in America currently treats accountability itself as the enemy.

Only one movement consistently turns powerful men accused of horrific behavior into martyrs.

Only one movement seems fundamentally incapable of saying, “If this is true, this person should never hold power again.”

That’s the rot.

That’s the sickness underneath all of this.

And until this country stops rewarding people for cruelty, until voters stop excusing behavior they would never tolerate in their own homes, until political parties fear protecting abusers more than they fear losing power, these stories are going to keep happening.

That’s the part that disgusts me most.

Not that monsters exist.

But that so many powerful people keep helping them survive.

P.S. Bigger than Democrat versus Republican. Bigger than the daily outrage cycle we all get trapped in.

A sitting Republican congressman just went on Tucker Carlson’s show and basically admitted what a lot of people already suspect: there’s a protected class of billionaires, political insiders, and powerful elites who think the rules simply do not apply to them — and they’re terrified of what happens if the Epstein files ever fully come out.

And honestly? The deeper you go down this rabbit hole, the uglier it gets.

Here are some moments you don’t want to miss:

[00:01:18] Congressman Thomas Massie explains why the “Epstein class” operates above party politics — and above accountability.

[00:02:29] We get into the political retaliation happening against Republicans and Democrats who keep pushing for the files to be released.

[00:04:47] Trump’s alleged pressure campaign against allies speaking out on Epstein starts to come into focus.

[00:07:20] Why this cover-up makes a lot more sense once you understand who’s protecting whom — and what’s at stake for the billionaire class.

[00:15:23] The core argument of this entire video: why none of our biggest problems get solved until this corrupt system of wealth and impunity is broken.

At the end of the day, this conversation isn’t really about conspiracy theories or internet drama. It’s about power. It’s about whether wealthy, politically connected people can traffic in corruption, abuse, intimidation, and lies without ever facing consequences. And it’s about whether ordinary people are finally reaching the point where we stop accepting it.

You don’t have to agree with Thomas Massie or Tucker Carlson on everything to recognize that something deeply broken is happening here. This system protects itself. That’s the point. And until we confront that reality head-on, nothing changes.

If you value conversations like this — honest, uncomfortable, unfiltered conversations that challenge powerful people no matter what party they belong to — help us keep building this community.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid

"TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" We talked about the war with Iran, Trump’s collapsing approval numbers, rising gas prices, and the very real human cost of another reckless Republican foreign policy disaster. This conversation got angry, personal, and honestly pretty emotional at points — because people are hurting, service members are dead, and MAGA world is still pretending everything is fine.

We also got into the corruption, the propaganda machine, and why Democrats cannot afford to play defense anymore.

Here’s what we got into:

[00:01:07] Jessiah breaks down why Trump’s Iran strategy is politically collapsing — and why Iran may only need to survive to claim victory.

[00:04:54] We talk about the midterms, gas prices exploding, and why even aggressive Republican gerrymandering may not save them this November.

[00:06:31] The economic fallout starts getting real: fertilizer shortages, rising grocery costs, and why working families are about to feel even more pain.

[00:10:31] We discuss the deaths of 13 American service members and why Trump must be held accountable for the consequences of this war.

[00:17:35] Jessiah unloads on Trump corruption, billionaire grifting, and the rage people should be channeling into political action instead of despair.

This episode is about more than just foreign policy. It’s about accountability, propaganda, corruption, and whether Democrats are finally ready to meet this moment with actual urgency. If you’re trying to make sense of where this country is headed, and if you value honest conversations like this, help me keep them going.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid

Trump OFFERS “BRIBE” to Fetterman to BETRAY the Democratic Party

Endless Urgency is free to read, but we’re hustling to launch our new content studio and expand our team with a video editor.

Mike Nellis

Endless Urgency is free to read, but we’re hustling to launch our new content studio and expand our team with a video editor. Politico dropped a report this week suggesting Trump and Senate Republicans are actively trying to flip John Fetterman — and not subtly. We’re talking about promises of money, power, protection, the whole Washington playbook. And honestly? It says everything about how rotten this system has become.

This video gets into why Democrats cannot afford to be naive about what’s happening right now — and why building a Fetterman-proof Senate majority matters so much heading into the midterms.

Here are some moments you don’t want to miss:

[00:01:06] We break down why Republicans are suddenly terrified about losing the Senate — and why Fetterman could become their insurance policy.

[00:02:21] The “financial windfall” detail drops, and we get into what that actually means in modern American politics.

[00:04:36] A deeper look at the relationships pulling Fetterman closer to Republican power players behind the scenes.

[00:06:15] I react to Fetterman defending Trump’s agenda and accusing Democrats of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

[00:10:38] The bigger takeaway: why Democrats need 52 Senate seats — not 51 — if we actually want to stop Trump’s agenda.

At the core of this conversation is a bigger question about corruption, loyalty, and whether either party is willing to stand up to the billionaire-driven machine that keeps rewarding bad behavior. This isn’t just about one senator. It’s about whether Democrats are prepared for the fights ahead — and whether we’re willing to build a coalition strong enough to survive the defections, pressure campaigns, and backroom deals that are absolutely coming.

If you value blunt, honest conversations like this — the kind that don’t sugarcoat what we’re up against — help us keep building this thing together.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid

Trump STUNNED As Own Lawyers Turned Against Him Over War, Plus A Lively Debate About Capitalism — with Mike Nellis and Jack Cocchiarella

Mike Nellis and Jack Cocchiarella LIVE — Thursdays at 10am ET

Mike Nellis

Endless Urgency is free to read, but we’re hustling to launch our new content studio and expand our team with a video editor. But then the conversation cracked open into something way bigger — power, corruption, billionaires, the future of the Democratic Party, and whether America’s entire obsession with “rugged individualism” is breaking us apart.

We got personal. We disagreed. We pushed each other hard. And honestly? These are the kinds of conversations I think we need a lot more of right now.

Here’s what we got into:

[00:01:37] We dig into the DOJ probe surrounding suspicious oil trades tied to Trump’s Iran escalation — and ask who inside Trumpworld may have been cashing in.

[00:12:59] The conversation shifts to billionaires, Wall Street, and why some of the most powerful people in America actually benefit from chaos and instability.

[00:20:07] Jack breaks down the insane private equity takeover of youth sports — including parents getting punished for taking photos at hockey games.

[00:33:00] We debate how Democrats should actually use power if they win in 2028 — from nuking the filibuster to taking on monopolies and corporate corruption.

[00:45:37] The second half turns into a full-on philosophical fight over individualism, expertise, freedom, systems, and whether Americans are being sold a myth about success and self-reliance.

This episode covers a lot of ground, but underneath all of it is one question: what kind of country are we actually trying to build? If you’re frustrated with performative politics and want deeper conversations about power, class, media, democracy, and where this movement goes next, this one is essential. And if you value conversations that are honest, messy, thoughtful, and real — help us keep building this thing.

Become a paid subscriber to Endless Urgency today »

With urgency,

—Mike

Upgrade to paid
