Desperate and Cornered, Trump Attacks Adam Schiff to Distract From Epstein Coverup
Trump's attack on Adam Schiff is lazy, even for him.
I wrote yesterday that Donald Trump would try to weasel his way out of the Epstein cover-up disaster he’s found himself in. That plan has now been revealed. This morning, he went after one of his favorite Democratic punching bags: Senator Adam Schiff of California.
He’s concocted yet another nonsense conspiracy theory—this time about Schiff and his mortgage. He’s calling for him to be prosecuted, as he’s done time and time again. And, as you’d expect from someone like Trump, it’s complete and utter bullshit.
Trump is backed into a political corner. He’s at his weakest—and when he’s weak, he’s at his most feral. So I expect we’ll keep seeing wild, desperate haymakers.
But this isn’t just about the Epstein scandal threatening the MAGA movement—it’s also that the general public is pissed. And now, there’s fresh reporting that inflation has accelerated because of Trump’s tariffs.
There’s no amount of spin they can apply to the Epstein case, the economy, or the corruption in Washington that’ll get Trump out of this. All he can do is try to distract the American people.
These attacks on Adam Schiff—however insane and false—are just red meat for the base. Something to keep the QAnon crowd, the MAGA diehards, and the conspiracy nuts fed so they stop asking questions about Epstein.
But I don’t think it’s going to work this time. Sure, plenty of people will play along. But as I wrote yesterday, Trump’s entire political identity is built on the claim that he’s fighting a cabal abusing children and destroying America.
The truth is, this Epstein situation is exposing what many of us have long known: if that cabal exists, Donald Trump is part of it.
So here’s my advice: keep your head on a swivel. Expect chaos. Expect distractions—that’s Trump’s playbook. Don’t fall for it.
Yes, defend the people he attacks, whether they’re everyday folks or leaders like Adam Schiff, who are just trying to do the people’s work. But always remember: Trump’s goal is to distract from his real agenda.
And right now, that agenda is covering up what’s in the Epstein files and the flight logs—for himself, for allies like Steve Bannon, and for the billionaire donors who fund his movement and populate his cabinet.
Never forget: everything Trump does is about enriching himself. Enriching himself at the expense of the American people.
Everything is more expensive. It’s harder to buy food, to afford a home, to start a family, or to retire with dignity than it was when Trump took office.
Meanwhile, Trump has made billions—off merchandise, meme coins, even a private jet he allegedly took as a bribe. Sixty to seventy percent of his net worth has been generated since January of his first term.
He’s getting exactly what he wants: money, power, and the ability to go after political opponents—whether they’re at Harvard or in the U.S. Senate.
Don’t let him distract you. Don’t let him get away with it.
Talk to your neighbors. Talk to the Trump voters in your life—the ones who got swept up in this mess and who, I believe, are starting to feel betrayed.
I’m having those conversations now with my own family and friends, and I’m finding that more and more people are waking up.
That doesn’t mean they’ll become Democrats overnight. But they’re seeing the truth.
And the more people we reach, the more power we have to resist what Trump is trying to do—to our democracy, our country, and the people he’s hurting.
As Trump’s support crumbles, more Republicans—who are terrified of him—might find the courage to stand up.
These are the same Republicans, by the way, who just yesterday (all but one of them on the Rules Committee) voted to keep the Epstein file hidden. Every Democrat voted to reveal it. So maybe not!
The weaker Trump becomes, the more his base crumbles. The more they stay home, the better chance we have to win elections or stop the next disaster—like the horrendous budget they just passed.
Keep your chin up. Stay sharp. Speak truth to power.
We’re going to get through this—together.
Who besides me believes the elephant in the room, that no one is talking about, is the fact that Trump is on Epstein’s list? If he wasn’t, he’d have that list released. He only looks out for himself. He’s going to great lengths to cover this up. It has to be about him or he wouldn’t care.
Of course he does. He is an idiot. Need to keep the pressure on him.
