There are reports out now that internal communications have stated that ICE agents don't need judicial warrant to violently or without permission break into a home. Yo, folks, if that is true then the 4th Amendment has been repealed. And it's worse than that. The agents are to be verbally informed of this permission, but no paper trail will be allowed to exist. This makes me think of John Yoo's torture memos giving the US permission to torture detainees. Oh, I'm sorry, did I say "torture." I meant "enhanced interrogation."
The 4th Amendment has not been repealed. These bums want to PRETEND that it doesn't apply to them, and defy anyone to stop them. To the courthouse we go then. Anyone who's 4th Amendment rights are violated should sue, and they should win.
I agree that they should win and if we had a competent, uncorrupted SCOTUS they would, but who knows what the Shameful Six will do. Some things should be so clear cut that we could rest assured that the SCOTUS would do the right thing, But that should have been the case for officials who were protected by law from being fired except for specific causes. What did the SCOTUS clowns do? They ignored the law and told Trump to be their guest in firing theoretically protected officials. They are using the very unconstitutional Unitary Executive theory to rewrite parts of the Constitution and ignore laws passed by Congress. This is just one reason why former conservative appeals court judge Michael Luttig said the his "friend" Chief Justice Roberts is "leading this country down the path of lawlessness." Not what should be expected of a nation's top court.
The funny (totally unfunny) thing is that the SCOTUS can "repeal" the 4th Amencment by simply ignoring it and coming up with bogus reasons why it doesn't apply or something is an exception. At various times the justices will claim that originalism or textualism require that they rule a certain way. But in making their decision they ignore the theoretical way in which one or the other tool is used. Textualism, for example, requires that the justices apply the Constitution in a way that requires them to follow the explicit meaning of the text as it was written down in the 1700s. Antonin Scalia a devotee of texualism essentially ignored the plain wording of the 2nd Amendment when he wrote the D.C. v. Heller gun decision in which, despite the wording regarding militias, he found a personal right to "keep and bear arms" in the complete absence of any connection to a militia. Both originalism and textualism often require a generous application of hypocrisy that conveniently gets the justices the outcomes their personal agendas prefer.
I'm well aware of the games that the GOP appointees on the SCOTUS are trying to play. We both know they've gone "heads I win, tails you lose" on more obscure regulations and voting laws.
But the 4th amendment is a pretty big one. I say put it out there and let them say "No, it doesn't count for ICE", which would be the most blatant example of upending the law for one side. If that's what they think, then put them on the record so everyone can see they're frauds. Or watch them actually stick to the law and have to sock it to their side.

He has united most of the major members of the European Union (plus Canada) against him, the initiative, and the current govt. of the United States. (Orban surely won't sign on, and, to my knowledge, we have not heard yet from Italy, Spain and Portugal.) They will move quickly to set up a new international economic system that excludes the United States. Further, you can bet your bottom dollar that the EU defense depts. have started crash research programs for upgrading the Rafaele, SAAB, and Eurojet fighter aircraft so that they can eventually eliminate their current dependence on the U.S. F-35's.

What people do not understand, the most powerful branch of our government resides in Arlington Virgina at the Pentagon. The Supreme court could call upon the Pentagon to reign in unlawful actions of the "Commander in Chief". The pentagon can also disobey an illegal order coming from the White House. The Uniform Code of Military Justice covers every serving person in the American Military all the way up to the Commander in Chief. The second amendment of our constitution was aimed at "organized militia's" being armed enough to push back on enemies foreign and domestic including a dictator. The UCMJ could be used if the President violates the constitution in issuing orders that would be considered as illegal.
