- they constantly cheat because what they want is unpopular. They are relying on the power of the oligarchs to help them. It's up to us to make sure it doesn't work- since there are so many MORE of us than them.
- think of all of this as bad weather. Bad weather doesn't last forever. You're not in a rainstorm or a snowstorm thinking "This is going to last forever." It doesn't. At some point we will be past this bad weather, and I'm talking decades from now either.
Mike, simple solution: 36 SCOTUS judges, with 9 to grant cert, and a separate 9 to hear an accepted case. This way there's no possibility of corruption and/or coordination, and it increases throughput.
I love Melissa but both of you have to stop being so kind to the 6 Republican Justices on the SCOTUS.
They're partisan hacks. Period.
Don't be befuddled or confused about it. Make it clear. They are partisan actors making partisan decisions for partisan ends. There is no other way to look at it or describe it.
That means we- the Democrats- should have ZERO hesitation in expanding the court by 4 seats at the first chance...AND picking all 4 Justices so that they are liberal.
I don't have to explain this to anyone who already gets it. But we have to be ready for the following two attacks on what NEEDS to be done-
- the right wing propaganda machine that will talk about the Dems "cheating" to take back the court.
- the lame punditry and media that will "argue" that it's only "fair" if the GOP pick 2 of the 4 additional Justices.
The GOP cheated to get 2 Justices on this court. They refused to even allow hearings for Obama's pick when Scalia died on the court in 2016, citing an election being too close. And then when RBG died on 9/30/2020 they bum-rushed Barrett onto the court.
That's cheating. Welcome anyone that wants to argue it. If the reply "well, they were able to do it because they had the votes", then that's good enough to put 4 Justices on the court to create a liberal majority for the first time since 1968.
The behavior of these Justices is completely corrupt, so NO ONE has to apologize for taking away their power. Again, I love to meet anyone from the right or middle that wants to argue it.
Oh, if the GOP were to expand the court when they had the chance- fine. Let them. We'll keep going until the SCOTUS is the size of a marching band. Do it.

I can’t afford the full payment for posts. I’m subscribed to my very favorite but had to use my tax return.
These podcasts have helped me to feel better. So I’ll watch what I can for free and pay when I can.

This Supreme Court has an agenda that does NOT include or honor the Constitution!
