We can't put term limits on them without a Constitutional amendment, and that ain't happening. We can add 4 seats to the SCOTUS if the Dems get a trifecta in 2028, and we absolutely should. And the Dems pick all 4 of the new Justices so the court has a 7-6 liberal majority. No more Chief Justice Roberts.
There are six members of that court who function as if they swore oaths to Trump instead of to our country and Constitution. And then they whine about being disliked...starting with Roberts. Thomas has been angry and getting revenge ever since he was challenged because of Anita Hill's testimony. 1. The SCOTUS majority are a bunch of partisan hacks and it can't be argued.
2. The SCOTUS acts like the Death Star of American politics, trying to destroy as much as possible for the oligarchs and the right, regardless of the actual law. So we're wasting our time if we don't blow it up.
3. A Dem trifecta in 2029 (after the 2028 elections) can absolutely expand the court by 4 seats. Pass it through Congress, through the Senate with a set-aside bill that says you can't filibuster legislation concerning the SCOTUS, and then the White House. The problem will be making sure that the 4 Justices are all liberal Democrats, because the right wing noise machine and the mainstream media will say it's "not fair" if the GOP doesn't pick 2 of them. Nope! They cheated in getting Gorsuch and Barrett on there, this is the consequence. The problem is that the media will cry about this and too many centrist Democrats can feel the pressure. This will be the hardest part.
4. Trump does whatever he wants because he's a malignant narcissist who's never been held to account in his life, and because the oligarchs are on his side helping and protecting him. No one on our side has the same disposition or situation. Minorities and out-groups- who make up the bulk of the Democratic base- can't even dream of behaving that way. That's why the difference between Trump and us.
This Supreme Court decision makes it clear that it hates democracy and the people of the U.S.I hope when Democrats are in power, they investigate theTrump-appointed judges. They all carry criminal baggage.
I keep getting requests from all over the country to send money to this or that Democratic candidate. We can't win with this fractured funding system. Much as I hate PACs the GOP has an organization with vast money bags. We need the same to be distributed strategically, not $5 here for Talarico, $5 there for Sherrod Brown, etc. We cannot afford to lose, and we can't have Hogg fighting the DNC splitting up the Blue Wave.
