Please just say NYS has fusion, which enables candidates running on different lines (parties) to tally votes. (There was actually once a City Fusion Party. A liberal Republican - not then the ultimate oxymoron - named LaGuardia ran successfully for NYC Mayor with its help, unseating the Democratic Tammany Hall.) The smaller parties usually have an idealogical or issue(s) tinge. Sometimes, these are candidate specific vanity lines. In the realm of throw spaghetti at Mamdani & see what sticks (odd in a city with serious taste for pastas across cultural & continental lines), there were folks who wanted rank choice for the actual elections. They probably, did not notice, for example, that DA & judge races are state offices & hence not subject to rank choice or beneficiaries of the city's candidates matching funds program: The program has, BTW, an awards cap, the ceiling of which Mamdani may have been the first ever to hit. I heard one woman say, he needs a MBA. I don't think any of the preceding candidates going back to the great consolidation of 1898 - which created the five boroughs - had such a degree. Not sure all of those guys - to date, a penis has been de riguer for Gotham's mayoralty - had baccalaureates. Curtis Sliwa wants more special as well as technical & vocational high schools. Am wondering if that comes from his experience creating & leafing the overwhelming brown & black Guardian Aliens? Those later high schools today would have to be offering the equivalent of community colleges & AI seems to call into question graduate professional degrees. But the man beneath the rakishly worn beret was thinking & even if not ideal to lead the city - unquestionably loves it. NYC doesn't have a Robert Moses position & Moses himself held many city & state positions: That would have been the Andrew Cuomo spot but infra dig for that infrastructure dude: Moynihan Hall notwithstanding, like Moses, he had railroad void, hence the absence despite a public outcry, across the new Tappan Zee Bridge: Kinda strange as the once unemployed Moses' first great project was the West Side Transportation Improvement, which included the acrobatic legal & engineering creation of the elevated rail freight corridor known as the High Line. Moses tangled with the aforementioned LaGuardia. The latter, while still mayor, was tapped by FDR to launch the Office of Civilian Defense, a very small but critical coordinating body created ~ a 1/2 year before the Day of Infamy. Perhaps with "soft secession" this challenge for Blue cities, particularly for undocumented & legally present immigrants & even naturalized citizen will fall to one of the latter, NYC's mayor elect. Seattle. Everyone on the planet has a right to food, affordable housing, living income, free education, free healthcare, and anything else that helps everyone thrive. Jobs have to be good enough to cover that by ONE worker for the entire family. Anything else is nonsense.

There were supposedly 7M No-Kings protestors. Add more who didn't make it to the streets. Consider the boycotting (and picketing) power of 7M consumers.
North Carolina kowtowed to Trump and Gerrymandered. Bank of America and Coca Cola are headquartered in NC and are the two largest corporations in the state. Both will own most of the legislators in North Carolina. Boycott and picket them until they either tell their legislative pets to cancel the Gerrymandering or they move their HQ out of NC.
Copy and repeat in other states which kowtowed, or are thinking about kowtowing, to Trump.
Stop sitting around just eating Cheetos and Uncrustables while hoping for the best in the battle next year. Start skirmishing and harassing to weaken the other side before the battle.
This activity needs to be in place and active to thwart other rigging activities. Pushing corporations into telling their state legislative pets to not kowtow to Trump will defeat all kinds of rigging Trump's Project 2025 overlords will be engaging in over the next year.

Where do we find more candidates like Mamdani? He’s on the level of Obama when he first ran. You see and feel his goodness and commitment, and it’s real. I think he’s a very good man. However, I think this is like a ticking time bomb for the man in the oval.
