The level of immorality or ignorance to be a Trump supporter is unparalleled, regardless of perceived politics. Frankly, supporting this scumbag of a man as a kin to treason to the constitution.

My mother was a life long Republican. She would be horrified at what the Republican Party has become. She hated Donald. Mainly because of the way he treated tradesmen that did work on his casino later bankrupt. How do you bankrupt a Casino. After they finished the work Donald’s lawyers paid them Penny’s on the dollar. It ruined them. Made her sick.

Sorry I cannot listen anymore. You cannot convince anyone that deludes themselves that Trump is a good guy and has good intentions. Sorry I am out of here :( 3-1/2 more years to destroy our country

Precisely correct, and that includes Congresspeople who are not convinced, but who openly say they're afraid, and the supermajority of the SCOTUS. It's a wide open question what will be left after the 3 1/2 more years.

Agree. It was so hard to hear someone who should know better — who allegedly had respect for the rule of law — dismiss the blatant illegality of deeds by this felon. He befriended a pedophile, and has been sued by someone who was a child at the time when that felon raped her.

And he had problems with Harris??? Really!?? Wow. Yea, could not listen to him anymore.

I was gone after his first sentence, “there is no list”. HOL

Not gonna play the semantics game… even if Jeff didn’t have a handy dandy list he kept in his hip pocket to bribe those on the list, a list of all those participating in the abuse in any way, shape or form was certainly compiled during the investigation.

Mike, I appreciate you bringing your dad into this conversation! It was illuminating and baffling at times and reminds us of the divide that exists. I blame FOX and right wing media for the continuous misinformation and disinformation they spew. However, I would have thought that your dad’s former profession would give him a keener sense of skepticism, especially of a pathological liar! Thanks again for this convo and tell your dad his point of view was appreciated and I hope he appreciated ours. We can agree to disagree! 😁

Ms Hanford, you can blame Fox and right wing media all you like, but none of it has meaning without people like Bill Nellis to believe it.

I don't mean to be rude to Mike, or to Bill, but there's a reason candidates want a lot of campaign money. It buys them exposure, and if the public/voters are stupid and lazy enough, they'll buy what candidates are selling.

Alynne Hanford's avatar

Fred, media consumption does play a role and it’s hard to navigate the lies, especially campaign rhetoric . We obviously vehemently disagree with Bill, but it’s important to engage and have respectful discussions and debates. We have to listen to each other’s side (as difficult as that is) in order to affect change AND have the patience of a saint for sure. I admit that I get frustrated and livid with many people. I also live in Texas!!!!

Alynne, to give you an illustration of how difficult, or impossible, it is to engage with some people, did you note that Bill corrected Mike, and said he had voted for Donnie four times? Donnie has only run three times, and he can't run again. "Engaging" in a conversation like that is banging your head against the wall. You think you're trying to discuss a point, and the other person lives in a fairy tale world.

Bill is a Trumper. They have all kinds of explanations for all of their positions, including why it wasn't really an insurrection, or why what appeared to be an insurrection was really Biden's doing. If you want to make yourself crazy, watch Jordan Klepper interview these people.

How did someone with this warped idea of reality become an FBI agent?

Expand full comment
Mike Nellis's avatar

I mean, about 40% of the country feels this way but I can tell you my Dad served with honor regardless of his politics

Expand full comment
Fred Jonas's avatar

If 40% of the country feels this way, that means most people don't feel this way. The gerrymandering and voter suppression are for a reason: that Republicans know they'll lose unless they cheat.

I know nothing about your father (except that he buys Donnie's patent nonsense repeatedly), but I wonder if the offspring of masked ICE agents who won't identify themselves, and are just looking for a daily quota, would say their parents served with honor. No offense, but it's hard to conceptualize an FBI agent devoted to the country and the Constitution, and who is also devoted to a patent and inveterate liar whose only concern is himself.

So, when Bondi said the list was on her desk, she lied, is that right? It's an odd lie to tell. Any thoughts about why she chose to tell that lie?

Bondi said that what was on her desk was a list. Even if it was a "case file," she and Donnie promised to release it. So where is it? (Apart from there never was actually anything.)

And Donnie's been going on about this matter for years, including during his former term. This was when it was a corrupted product of the "deep state," included Clinton, and had been created by Obama. So where is it?

Hey Mike … after watching this, my takeaway is that you both need to have your blood pressure checked (especially Bill). Truly, there were times I was concerned I might watch a stroke happen. Can Bill talk without going into high pitch verbalization (yes, he can)? The red face is a huge giveaway … yes, the alcohol could cause some but when you are both in a high passion state, the red goes scarlet. Mike, don’t let the histrionics get you going and do it for your health.

Without this video, I could have read this much easier. Good to have both views but it is PAINFUL!
