Hey folks,

I jumped on live with Don Lemon to discuss the first real, meaningful rebuke from the Supreme Court smacking down Trump’s tariffs. This was a 6–3 ruling that said the president of the United States cannot just invent taxes because he feels like it. And it hit at the heart of Trump’s entire economic strategy. We talked about what it means, whether he’ll even follow it, and the question nobody in Washington seems eager to answer: where the hell is your money?

Here’s what we got into:

  • [00:00:22] I explain why this ruling is basically a bailout for House and Senate Republicans — they refused to stop the tariffs themselves, so the Supreme Court did their job for them.

  • [00:01:52] The core constitutional issue: taxation without representation. Congress levies taxes. Not kings. Not presidents playing emergency theater.

  • [00:02:32] The question Washington doesn’t want to touch — what happens to the tariff money Americans already paid? Do families get refunds? Or is it just… gone?

  • [00:07:58] Trump reportedly flies off the handle when he learns about the ruling, raging about courts limiting his power. Because constraints are kind of the whole point.

  • [00:09:36] The international fallout: Trump built his foreign policy around tariff threats. Now that leverage is gone. What does a weakened, cornered president do next?

We also talked about who actually pays the price when leaders abuse power. About why working families keep getting squeezed while Washington plays games. The average American household paid $1,500–$2,000 more last year because of these tariffs. That’s real money. For people living paycheck to paycheck, that’s groceries. Rent. Childcare. And now the Court says the tariffs were illegal. This episode isn’t just about a legal ruling. It’s about whether our institutions still function. Whether Congress will ever do its job. Whether voters will demand better. If you value independent voices willing to say it plainly, help me keep building this.
