MAGA Hates You. And They Hate This Country.
Grievance over governance.

I wasn’t going to write about last night’s stupid UFC fight. I didn’t want to give it any more oxygen. But having caught up on the clips, the corruption, and the sheer stupidity of it all, I can’t let it go.
It would be easy to fixate on the most salacious parts. The offensive attack on Michelle Obama by one of these shameless, attention-seeking assholes. Trump paying the fighters in crypto. Eric Trump getting caught doing insider trading. The desecration of our sacred monuments. And so much more.
But I want to focus on a specific trend I’m noticing from the MAGA influencers being paid to pretend this was some undeniable act of patriotism — when in reality it was a bunch of weird rich assholes circle-jerking and congratulating themselves on how cool they are, getting the “common folk” to fight for their entertainment.
Because last night was the perfect reminder of who these people really are and what drives them.
The modern Republican Party is fueled entirely by grievance. They do not care about anyone other than themselves. They have no ideas, no solutions, no ability to improve your life. They don’t care about you. I’d go further: I think they hate you and I know they hate this country.
Most of the people in the MAGA movement, right up to Donald Trump himself, are driven by the perceived slights against them, because they are tiny special snowflakes who believe they deserve special treatment — and they will now abuse the full power of the federal government to get it.
Here’s the kind of thing I saw last night. MAGA influencers argued it was fine for Trump to throw this fight at the White House because Barack Obama once lit it up in pride colors — as if those are remotely the same thing. They are so offended by the existence of gay people, so threatened by the idea that a symbol of love could fly over the people’s house, that to them it justifies handing the entirety of Washington, D.C. over so Dana White and a pack of rich assholes can gamble and make more money at our house.
This pattern plays out over and over. They think it’s fine for Trump to use the FCC to chase Jimmy Kimmel off the air, because Roseanne Barr got fired once for a vicious racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett. They think it’s fine for Trump to steal billions and billions from the American taxpayer, because Hunter Biden misused his last name. They think it’s fine to cover up the Epstein files and to treat women inside their own movement the way they do — to abuse them physically and sexually — because Bill Clinton lied about a blow job in the Oval Office decades ago.
They are furious about every perceived slight against them. And they are not angry about the things that should actually make them angry.

They should be angry that Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire a few days ago—something he would never have been able to accomplish without American taxpayers footing the bill. They should be angry about an economy held hostage to the war in Iran, and the insane “peace deal” Trump rolled out at his birthday party like set dressing. They should be offended that the people’s house got handed to Paramount and the UFC to turn a profit at your expense. They should be offended by the desecration of monuments that are supposed to mean something — that are supposed to stand for the best of what this nation can become.
They would be angry about all of that if they cared about anything other than themselves. But grievance is profitable, and propaganda pays better than patriotism ever could.
This is a class of wealthy, powerful, well-connected people. They have everything they need. They have money. They have power. What they lack is everything that actually matters. No real community. No real love for one another. No depth. No originality. None of it. They are soulless assholes who never think about you and will never lift a finger to make your life better.
And that’s the part that should worry all of us. Because what happened last night was another reminder that they no longer see any meaningful distinction between themselves and the institutions they control. The White House becomes a venue. The government becomes a weapon. The law becomes whatever is convenient at the moment. Once people convince themselves that power belongs to them by right, every norm, every guardrail, every democratic principle becomes expendable.
The damage from that mentality will not disappear overnight. It won’t be undone by a single election or defeat at the polls. The corruption, the cynicism, the attacks on institutions, and the normalization of behavior that would have once shocked the conscience of the country are going to leave scars. Repairing them is going to take time.
But none of that means surrendering to it. It means recognizing what’s happening clearly and refusing to accept it as normal. It means fighting for the institutions they are hollowing out, holding these people accountable wherever possible, and making sure they face consequences for what they’ve done.
That’s why the only real answer to last night is not just outrage, but action at the ballot box — a reckoning that begins in November. When the American people rise up, make their voices heard, and vote out as many of these assholes as we possibly can. Not because that alone fixes everything, but because it’s the first step toward repairing what they’ve broken. Then the adults can take back over, and the long process of rebuilding can finally begin. This nightmare doesn’t end the moment they lose power. But it doesn’t end at all unless they do.

It's was like a parody of corruption. They don't even try to hide it anymore
I can’t wait for the day when it all comes tumbling down…
