I'm glad you got out of Georgia! I'm back in Georgia since 2018, Atlanta born, East Point mama (grandparents met there). It is a hard state! I have been treated like I'm not a person... It's normal when I go out, like to the store (as though that is all that social), get takeout, things like that, but I feel like I've lost my ability to chat, because of social isolation. If people see through all the negative ads funded by Elon, the Dems should take the Senate. But.....what if the Senate ends up in a 50/50 tie?
J.D. Vance is a basic non-entity. In a 50/50 scenario, the balance of power might be in the hands of the one Republican senator that Trump both hates and fears: Lisa Murkowski.
Trump tried messing with her during his first term and got owned every time.
I 'd suggest a few answers when people ask bad faith questions about 'gender affirming care as a form of child genital mutilation'>
One is the Abdul El-Sayed approach - on FOX News, he was asked how we felt about 'gender mutilation' he replied 'So, are you circumcised?', leaving the host bumbling and sputtering.
Another response is to say the truth - that surgery for minors is extremely rare, and almost always when it is done for 'gender affirming care' its breast reductions for cis male boys.
You can then add that of course, most 'gender affirming care', from Hegseth's mandated testosterone shots, to breast and butt reductions or enlargements, to collagen shots, to any number of other very common treatments and practices, are done safely all the time for cis men and women, and are paid for by most insurance plans.
The most critical issue is puberty blockers. They can have serious long term consequences that parents should not be able to foist on young children who dont understand the issues. After 18 y.o they can do what they want with their bodies. But most of these gender dysphoria issues work themselves out when they reach adulthood. They should not have irreversible treatments before adulthood.
That is a collection of laughably false statements. Puberty blockers have been affirmed and reaffirmed by pediatricians and other health care specialists over and over for years and years to be safe. Parents do not 'foist them on young children' and they do not have 'irreversible effects'.
Circumcision does, however. Are you circumcised, Roger?
Here's the problem - so many people, including many presumably 'liberal' minded people, buy into right wing myths, then perpetuate them, as if they know better than loving parents who care about their children's well-being more than uninformed strangers who 'don't understand the issues'.
It's also funny/not funny that so many right wingers who claim to support 'parent's rights' when it comes to censoring school classes and libraries feel the exact opposite way about parent's choices regarding gender affirming care, or abortion rights, or any number of other family health care issues.
Parents should have the right to guide their children including how they are taught/indoctrinated and what drugs are put into their body, until they reach adulthood. Period. Parents have to deal with the consequences.
But they dont have the right to make irrevocable actions that have lifetime. consequences like beating them, raping them. Or cuttng of their arm. Or their penis or breasts. Children mutilated in this way are foreclosed from having or caring for their children, which is their god given birth right.
You are just not informed about puberty blockers. Go to the site drugs.com and look up the side effects of the following. And yes they can have permanent effects. You dont just choose to skip or mess with your puberty without consequences. Human beings are not machines.
No, frankly, you don't know what you are talking about.
Virtually every major hospital in the country has offered gender affirming care, including puberty blockers, to children with their parent's consent. These doctors work closely with the parents and the children. This has only started to become less commonly offered as right wing zealots have campaigned against parental rights and transgender rights on purely ideological grounds that have zero to do with genuine science or research.
I know many families with transgender children that use puberty blockers, including in my own family. I can guarantee you they know much more about this treatment and its effects that you think you do. I also know medical professionals who administer these treatments and other gender affirming care (which, again, is overwhelmingly administered primarily to cis children and adults in this country, whether as drugs, surgery or other treatments). They also know a whole lot more than you think you do.
You didn't answer my question though. Are you circumcised? And if so, were you 18 years old, so you could make the decisions to 'do what you want with your body'?
Virtually any available, approved drug can have side effects. That does not mean they cannot be administered safely most or nearly all of the time, it does not mean those side effects cannot be overcome, it does not mean alternatives will work differently for different people. Every single drug that is marketed today for any ailments must by law list its possible side effects, no matter how rare or how benign.
You are woefully not just uninformed, but terribly misinformed. Again, you seriously have no clue what you are talking about.
So where do you get your information from? Because everything I’ve read on the subject say that the effects are fully reversible. There is no long-term harm.
There may be some long-term harm in an occasional case. But you can take an aspirin and it can kill you.
I have heard talks on this subject but dont have them at my finger tips so I asked ChatGPT. So I dont think it is ethical to experiment on children. Take its answer for what it is worth:

""No. It is not scientifically established that all effects of puberty blockers are fully reversible. The answer depends on which effect you mean, how early treatment begins, how long it continues, and whether the young person subsequently takes gender-affirming hormones.
There is an important distinction between saying that the drugs' primary action is reversible and saying that every consequence of delaying puberty is reversible.

I know how that is, where the negative things have more impact. It was like that when I taught middle school, I was overwhelmed by insults and aggression when that happened, from adults. It's not something to ignore, but I have thought about that, since then. I think about a hug at the end of the year from the grandmother of a student I walked to dance class because she was being bullied, and that hug was everything to me! I had held my hand out, being formal, since we were discouraged from hugging, and she hugged me, and I feel like that took away so much of the hurt if I want to describe it that way, it was just a challenging year, teaching is very hard. The way things are politically, I think it's important to not ignore things like that, the violence is so bad, there's the physical violence, and in the past it might have been insults, comments. I think about other times it has been like this, before we were born. It is disappoiunting to think about students at UGA being aggressive like that. I find Georgia to be a challenging state, since moving back in 2018, being treated like I'm not a person. It's a weird state, bad, bad history, and there's the educational lottery and a lot of "high achievement" stuff that has caused problems in the way people think about each other. With the threats that have been made against you and other people who are miore directly involved, politically, I can understand if it's very unsettling, even to the point of PTSD or something like it. I actually made a video talking about complex PTSD earlier today, trying to understand some things. When I sit here and think about this, I think about going to Clarke County when I worked at hte lab, and the person I worked with being aggressed on verbally by the DA. I will just say, I do not love Georgia. I am very, very thankful for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, but this state is a real challenge.

The MAGA hold-outs are definitely crazy. But MAHA is Not dead. Despite disillusioning stands by Some of the supposed leaders of MAHA, MAHA is a grassroots movement. Aak Anyone about the choices they make now about their health and medical care. There has been a massive shift in perceptions of the US's regulatory, food & medical systems. We are not going back to the pre-Covid obliviousness when these institutions were trusted. Any politician, Dem or Rep, that ignores this shift does so at their own peril.
Btw, one of, if not THE leading cause of death in the USA is the medical system. Think about that the next time you go to the doctor or check into a hospital. During Covid the hospitals rolled out Protocol Medicine in a big way, with serious consequences up to losing their license for medicos that didnt go along, and dangerous even fatal consequences for patients. Listen to the recording of Sen. Ron Johnson's two Senate hearings on the covid jab adverse events and another on hospital protocols. They are heartbreaking.
One lawyer intervened in court and saved almost seventy patients that wanted Ivermectin. 140 patients ALL died where he was unable to intervene. Did anyone hear about that?
MAHA is a bunch of horseshit with a little bit of truth sprinkled on here and there. The anti vax 'movement' is as purely anti science as climate change deniers, and has as much validity as the flat earth 'movement'.
Th fact that there are extremely rare cases of side effects from vaccines proves nothing. We have had over a century of proof of the efficacy of vaccines, including the pandemic.
Listen to 'Ron Johnson? seriously?
And, for more on what a serious guy RFK Junior is, read his diatribe about Arabs today. Smart guy! Not a scumbag racist at all!
Piece of advice. NEVER call anyone 18 years or older, a "kid".
I understand they are much younger than you. I get it that their energy and perspective are still transitioning from that of children. They are constantly being told to "Grow up", often in a very commanding and condescending manner. You are likely feeling fond and protective, and those are good emotions, but you can do that while extending respect.
Respect is given, not earned. Certainly a person can make choices that will remove that respect, but we can not 'win' respect from somebody who does not think we have earned it yet.
It costs nothing to give respect, and it is the beginning of every right. Without respect, rights, even humanity can be taken away from people.
Being an adult is not about being a 'responsible person', because let us be real, there are LOTS of 'adults' who display no responsibility at all. No, In reality being an Adult is being held responsible for the consequences of your actions. Being young, the person may not be used to this reality, it may take them time to learn how to make useful choices based on this reality, but that is how people learn.
Young people voting for the first time, are taking a step in that direction, and just like far too may voters who learned the consequences of voting for Trump and the Republicans enabling him, they will learn as well. Hopefully their lessons will be filled with examples where they chose well and do not come to regret their choices.
People of any age are more likely to listen when you give them respect. A common complaint among rural folk is the lack of respect they feel from 'city folk coming to their towns and farms and telling them how to live.' Respect is the foundation of our democracy and it is just the smart thing to do. It is the Christian thing to do. It is the right thing to do.
I am confident you meant no disrespect, but young people, still discovering their path in life, are easily defensive about respect, as are minorities and women... who have felt disrespected for too long. So the forms of address, and how we say them matter more than we might think. It is especially hard for parents, raising their children, to change their loving, caring behavior after 18 years, to change their relationship, to acknowledge the change in status and responsibility, especially when we feel they still have not figured it out yet and are still making mistakes.
Of course they are still making mistakes, when did you stop? Those 'mistakes' may simply be the path they have chosen that is not your path. It may be a lesson they need to learn the hard way, as many Trump voters discovered. When we give them respect, they are more likely to hear us. When we give them respect, they are more likely to 'step up' and accept their new role. It is a gift we can give them, trusting them, loving them, asking them to join us rather than to remain beneath us.
What do you expect of frat rats. They have to go into frat stuff in a big way because many use frat life to cover up their inability to shine otherwise.
REPUBLICANS HOLD POWER BY PROTECTING SEXUAL PREDATORS. The vast majority of Americans hate monsters who rape—and they especially hate monsters who rape children. But a small—and politically powerful—group of Republicans, led by Todd Blanche, appear to support and defend Trump’s sexual predations. WHY?
Because scores of wealthy oligarchs—including Donald Trump—are identified in the Epstein files as pedophiles, Trump’s Department of Justice refuses to obey the law that requires the release of 100% of the files. It appears the Republican DOJ is deliberately trying to coverup Trump’s sordid history of child rape.
Regardless of Party affiliation, every customer, every associate, and every guest of Jeffrey Epstein that trafficked, or pimped, or raped a child—and every employee of every government entity who knew of the rapes and covered them up—must be identified, indicted, prosecuted, convicted, and thrown into prison. And that includes President Donald Trump, fired Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and current Attorney General, Todd Blanche.
THERE IS NO LEGAL DOUBT THAT DONALD TRUMP IS A SEXUAL PREDATOR. The courts found him liable for the sexual assault of E. Jean Carroll. After losing multiple appeals, the judgement of the court stands: Trump raped and defamed E. Jean Carroll. Trump was ordered, to pay his victim $5 million in damages plus accrued interest. After the Supreme Court refused to hear Trump’s final appeal, the Court of Record transferred Trump’s funds to his victim. In a second successful defamation lawsuit the court ordered Defendant Trump, to pay Ms Carroll $83.3 Million.
AMERICA’S CONVICTED CRIMINAL PRESIDENT STANDS ACCUSED OF:
(1) the sexual assault of 26 adult women.
(2) the slapping and violent rape of a 13-year-old child provided to him by his good friends—the pedophile sex traffickers—Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
(3) the rape of a child described by the victim in four FBI depositions—(taken under oath)—that between 13 and 15 years of age, she was raped by Donald Trump.
THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE LEADS THE COVERUP. Blanche, one of Trump’s personal attorneys, continues to ignore the law passed by Congress on November 18, 2025 that directed the release all of the Epstein files no later than December 19, 2025. In a blatant slap at the Judiciary, Todd Blanche has flatly refused the order of the Judge to deliver specific un-redacted files to the Court.
If—(in the millions of pages of documents the DOJ refuses to release to Congress)—Bondi and Blanche have concealed evidence of Donald Trump’s felonies, both must be criminally charged.
PREDICTION: Evidence of Trump’s crimes against children will surface and topple the Trump Family Crime Syndicate; Trump, Bondi and Blanche will be prosecuted, convicted and thrown into prison.
Hallelujah!

WOW! Must be the full moon.
What do you expect of frat rats. They have to go into frat stuff in a big way because many use frat life to cover up their inability to shine otherwise.
THANK YOU, MIKE, FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
