McConnell JUST BETRAYED Trump’s ENTIRE WHITE HOUSE

Hey folks,

Donald Trump says Russia has been “fine” in Ukraine. Mitch McConnell, of all people, is now publicly calling him out for it.

Yes, you read that correctly. McConnell has largely disappeared from public view, but an op-ed under his name is suddenly delivering one of the sharpest Republican rebukes of Trump’s treatment of Vladimir Putin. This whole thing is bizarre, and incredibly revealing.

  • [00:01:07] Mitch McConnell reemerges with a scathing op-ed attacking Trump’s handling of Putin and Ukraine, despite barely being seen publicly in weeks.

  • [00:03:16] McConnell’s message is blunt: coddling Putin won’t bring peace. We get into why Trump’s continued accommodation of Russia should alarm everyone.

  • [00:05:57] Trump says Russia has been “fine” in Ukraine while attacks continue, raising an obvious question: where are all the other Republicans supposedly committed to standing with Ukraine?

  • [00:08:04] We follow the money as Trump touts energy moves involving Russia, and I explain why I think his approach does nothing meaningful for Americans while potentially benefiting Putin.

  • [00:10:18] With the midterms about a week away, we get to the bigger political question: will a Republican defeat finally convince anyone in Trump’s party to stand up to him?

This episode is about Ukraine, Putin, Trump, and the staggering cowardice inside today’s Republican Party. I have plenty of problems with Mitch McConnell, but if an op-ed under his name is one of the only Republican voices willing to challenge Trump over Russia, that tells us just how broken this party has become. If you value independent media willing to keep asking where the hell the accountability is, help me keep doing this work.
