This was considered "Free Speech" by the Supreme Court at that time, which as a veteran really pissed me off. I didn't know the man and can't form an opinion of his character other than the widely available clips and recordings of him that certainly make me believe that he was an unapologetic racist and misogynist. That shouldn't equal a death sentence. It should disqualify him for widespread admiration.
