Basically I agree with you, Mike. But we have three real problems here.
The Republicans don’t mind about lying, deceiving, and leading people on.
The Democratic Party refuses to play hardball. The closest we have to it is Gavin Newsom.
The MAGAtous base only cares about being told to believe everything they already think. But at this point, it’s impossible to tell the difference between people who are simply incredibly ignorant, paid liars, people lost in the cult, or watch-it-all-burn psychopaths.
I don’t have an answer to this, maybe the only way they will learn is if it does all burn and it hurts them terribly. But even then, I’m not sure anything will get through. A million or more deaths from COVID was not enough to get through to them..
It’s surprising you working with the Democratic Party and not have heard the term “narrative dominance.” That’s what the Republican Party has done for decades and Democrats have failed to meet the moment. If people hold Democrats responsible for the shut down, when it’s ALWAYS been on the party in control, then Democrats don’t deserve to ever be in power!

Narrative dominance isn’t built on a thousand press hits from leaders. It’s built on a million conversations between ordinary people. That’s the infrastructure Democrats already have, if we choose to use it.
What we need are the tools (video clips, frames, one-liners). Give those to grassroots messengers, neighbors, coworkers, family members, and then let us be.
Trump’s approval ratings are in the low 40s. But, the House and Senate Democrats collectively have even lower ratings. That’s why I’m skeptical that what you are saying will be enough to counter the overwhelming narrative from the Republicans.
I am pissed too. Every time I hear Hakeem speak I yell "get mad" I want to hear you have some passion! The REASONS are all there! RIGHT is there. Sad to say, the most passion I get from the Democrats is when they are (daily) asking me for MORE money.
