It's worse in the GOP for a reason: their very policies dehumanize women (among others) and turn them into non-people, so their treatment is irrelevant.
As I have said many times and on these very pages, the issue is not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy would be refreshingly honest by comparison to what we are experiencing now. What we are looking at now is corruption: our political class has become everything that we, as a society, are supposed to hate.
A half-of-a-man convicted of 34 felonies is president. The same man has been adjudicated as a rapist. The same man apparently is the chief actor, script writer, director, producer, and supporting actor in the Epstein files movie. The same man has profited to the tune of hundreds of millions, if not billions, from his time as president.
Mitch McConnell prevented Obama from appointing another member to the Supreme Court. John Robertson said that it’s absolutely appalling that there are no ethical standards for Supreme Court justices, but that’s OK because there aren’t any ethical standards for Supreme Court justices. Two justices take money— openly. the clear words of the 14th amendment regarding birthright citizenship barely survive a challenge in that very same Supreme Court. Red state republican governments have done absolutely nothing for their people for 40 years. Those states still rank at the bottom of every measure of social well-being. But they have managed to convince troglodyte voters that transgender people are the problem.
The Department of offense, excuse me, defense, excuse me, war has declared that transgender people need to be kicked out. These include qualified soldiers. And we wonder why our soldiers are dying in the Middle East. Exactly the same thing happened 30 years ago with don’t ask don’t tell. They kicked out qualified Farsi in Arabic translators because they were gay. The result was dead American soldiers, because the amount of intelligence that required Farsi and Arabic translation was insurmountable without the qualified translators to translate the intelligence.
Meanwhile, my newsfeed shows at least 500 pastors and priests arrested, or convicted, or sentenced every single year for sex crimes against children, often against women, occasionally against men. And yet drag queens and transgender people are the threat. The newly elected president of the southern Baptists says that the ongoing sexual abuse scandal in the southern Baptist is a hoax. All of those guilty pleas are the proof of this. In short, the religious establishment is every bit as corrupt as the political establishment.
This is what happens when religion and politics fornicate together. Both become even worse. And given that the Catholic sexual abuse scandal alone is at least 1000 years old— google Saint Peter Damien— this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Helping you be more accurate with your post..... When he was Governor of Massachusetts, Republican Charlie Baker was the most popular governor in the country by some unbiased accounts. Phil Scott, Republican governor of Vermont, remains in office and is also highly popular. In 2025, Scott made it clear he would not agree to any request for VT national guard personnel to be sent to assist ICE anywhere
During COVID, these two governors, along with then Governor Hogan in MD and still Governor DeWine in Ohio, shut down their states for a time to protect their citizens. Don't believe the Fox News and Newsmax lies that only Dem governors did shutdowns.
Republicans don't realize. People aren't going to vote for them. We want their ass'ss out. They aren't doing anything for the American people, they have no morals!

Humbly, I'd amend that to, "If you're in the Epstein files, and there is credible evidence that you've done something illegal, I want you prosecuted".
Being in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing.
I agree. I sent an op Ed to the Des Moines register about grassley and the senate as an old folks home but they wont print it because I’m not an Iowan. However his actions affect us all. I’m so worn out with these horrid politicians. And no recourse to boot them out.
Grassley and Sanders both should've retired before running for their current terms. Grassley will be 95 at the end of his current term. Sanders will be 89. While I don't agree with a lot of the arbitrator age limits being tossed around ("no one over 70!") this is just too old. These are the two oldest senators; neither should have run their last race.
I have a question and a comment. First, I am a subscriber, but I don't know when that runs out. Could someone please let me know so I can know when to renew? Now...HOW IN GOD'S NAME did ANYONE vote for this convicted felon/adjudicated rapist in the first place, and jeopardize us, our country and the world? I especially don't get why ANY woman would vote for a rapist...one who has also been accused by multiple women!
