Immediately fire and remove position and power for ANYONE (regardless of party) who does this. They should not be able to run for office again since they clearly cannot do the job.

Also, if Congress was not so damn OLD, they would more than likely miss less work days due to health complications.

Oh come on, he's not “OLD”. How weird to make this about age. Unfortunately, people can get serious health issues, like cancer, at any age.

The real issue is that he supports his party's budget cuts to Medicaid, Title X, Head Start, SNAP, and other health care programs, resulting in his fellow Americans losing access to medical care for their, and their children's, health.

I never said this particular congressman is old. I said Congress is old, as in the majority. Also, I said they would "more than likely" miss less. I choose my verbage carefully. Thanks!

Vee's avatar

Hmmm.... So, you've seen evidence that OLD Congressmembers miss a lot of work days specifically "due to health complications"?

Jase's avatar

As of lately, it is seeming that way.

What is your goal with this back and forth?

We're all entitled to our opinions, drawing conclusions, and noticing patterns form. If you disagree, fine, you have that right.

Vee's avatar

What's YOUR goal?

Just to comment at every possible opportunity, whether it's related to the post or not, that being OLD is disqualifying?

That Congress is "so damn OLD,"? And making assumptions that they are more likely to be infirm... thus, being OLD and/or infirm is automatically disqualifying. Especially to be in Congress.

It's NOT substance or policy that disqualifies them. It's NOT their voting record. It's NOT not being transparent and showing up for their constituents, in this case. It's NOT being corrupt, NOT being fully loyal to the Trump regime, NOT voting against healthcare and every other program or service that would help or support his constituents, NOT the regime stealing from working people, families and children, so that more funding and benefits can be given to the 1%, donors and tech bros.

NO, it's just being "so damn OLD".

My immediate thought goes to did they do something to him? I don’t know why but ….

The guy is 57. Actually young compared to the geriatrics in Congress.

Jase's avatar

I know. I never said that his particular Congressman was old.

Why is this such a mystery 🤷. Where are the investigative reporters? How about someone hire a PI? Anyways, this seems rediculous and annoying. Thanks Mike for covering it.

Good news is that Dems have an amazing candidate for this seat in Rebecca Bennett. Support her. She will wipe the floor with this bozo whether he shows up or not.

Thank you Mike. I love how worked up you get when pointing out the facts about deadbeat politicians. Keep up the great reporting.

Maga isn’t in the WH to win the next election.

Maga is there to destroy as much of America as possible before the citizens stop them.

What are the citizens waiting for, where’s the eviction plan ?

How about our future Congress establish a law mandating that ATTENDANCE be taken and published for constituents to see? Welcome back to grade school. Let's do it, US Government.

You don’t show, you’re removed from office…that is the way it would be handled in the real world!!

If he’s too sick to show up, he’s too sick to be in Congress! People…these guys are making decisions that affect all of our lives…so if someone can’t even be at work to handle issues that concern all of us, but especially he is/her constituents…it’s time they leave office & have some in there that can do their job!!

Love this thinking!

Youre on the road, Mike, but still killing it!!!

What he is doing is called abandonment and that should be grounds for removal from office.

A 14 day report should be required if a congressional representative is going to be absent from attendance in Washington. They must be transparent in their whereabouts. JMHO
