I think maybe it looked sensible as an academic hypothesis , but all the examples in the real world show it doesn’t work. Or even more paranoid, it was “ sponsored research”. He should be shamed
Totally agree. It was Milton Friedman who told companies that they no longer had to be loyal to their employees -- only their top management and shareholders. That's when wages stagnated and the divide between what CEOs made and their average employee increased by leaps and bounds. It used to be 25% more than their average employee -- now it is anywhere from 400% - 1000%.
You guys are 100% right. The Orange Moron’s cronies, I think, would be shocked at how angry Americans are getting. I hear it every day. People are pissed! But this can’t boil over. This will give Trump justification for turning America into more of a police state.
Agree 100 percent, no ballroom, reflecting pool don’t reflect, no Hitler arch, no save act, no war. I thought it’s hysterical that he made sure Louisiana Senator was not elected, and that vote helped pass the war act to stop him from any more bombing of Iran.! we’re all fed up except Maga stupid
Thank you for bringing up the topic of billionaire philanthropy as a whole. It needs to be discussed more frequently. Robert Reich discusses this often too.
Interesting point. As a therapist I sit and listen to the progressive party and you’re not wrong. They seem to have left out the lowest class of people. It’s like they are just a different version of a younger age. That’s concerning.
I had a friend who had a terrible form of cancer, very aggressive and hard to treat. Her doctors wanted to use a treatment that was not a typical one for this cancer, and the insurance company denied it. They had to appeal that decision, and fight for her...all of which delayed her access to a med that could have saved her. Eventually, she received the drug, but too late. Her husband had already passed years before because of a surgical accident, and she had raised them alone. Now, they had lost their mother, as well, as very young adults. Of course, people hate the insurance industry execs!
I don't get why they're not taxed. you guys are talking from a point of view of acceptance that they dont pay. let's put our effort and energy into taxing billionaires.
They are both taxed and not taxed. They "pay taxes" on a bunch of things but then get credits for them that none of us would get. That's the first part of the game.
Then most of their wealth comes via instruments that are not taxed like income, if at all. That's the 2nd part of the game.

It has never trickled down. Thanks Ronald
Damn Right Reagan Got This Shit Started For This Shit To Happen !! He Had Dementia Also !!
I wish Milton Friedman, the author of trickle down theory, never would have spoke of it. It is called "The origin of the 'The World's Dumbest Idea'"

Excellent post. Thus we were led to a two class system: those with all and the rest of us with the demise of the middle class.
Heritage Foundation….they are directing our government and policies. See Project 2025. They got a toe hold in Reagan.
It has always trickled on. Not down.

And I’ll add that this may be his intention, so don’t let yourself or those around you fall into that.
Let it boil over!! Take him down!!

Quote from Hello Dolly: Dolly's husband who had passed always said: Money is like manure. It doesn't do any good unless you spread it around!
Trump is completely on board with Project 2025. That and he's one of the top people in charge of the Epstein Elite.
That’s a serious problem right there.

I don't think healthcare for all is a radical progressive idea anymore.
Thank you! Hopefully many others will be feeling the same.

I’m very sorry to hear that. I can’t think of any other country where doctors’ decisions can be overruled by insurance.
Thank you! I can't think of any other developed country that doesn't provide proper health care, either.
I dare someone to put Bezos in a Marie Antoinette style dress and hairpiece and put "Bezos tells workers to eat cake" in the chiron.
That scenario could apply to just about anyone in trump's regime.
I agree with you guys 💯
The bar is low? If he sat on a dime... his feet would dangle 😡
Totally agree with you Don! You, too, Mike!
