I understand Don's concern. The fact that Paxton won his primary even knowing he supported a convicted pedophile and supports pedophile Trump, It makes me wonder about the people that support these disgusting candidates.
My sense is that Paxton voters would've voted for Cornyn, but Cornyn voters may not vote for Paxton. They might not vote or hopefully would vote for JT (Talarico)!
If trump was running this year, he might not get votes because he isn't what he was.
That Paxton won over Corlnyn is not a huge surprise. MAGAtry turned out in force for Paxton, because they do what they’re told by Temussolini, and because Cornyn at his Best was fairly useless.
The real test will be whether everyone else turns out to vote for Talarico, or if the decent people have pretty much given up. The only upside, and it isn’t much, is that if the decent people in Texas don’t side with the Democrats and get out and vote, it will show that evangelical Christianity really doesn’t care about morality, and have abandoned any pretense at it. Not that this isn’t already evident, but I would like to believe that the decent people still out number the kind of people that would support a known adulterer, a man impeached by his own party, a man with apparently dishonest tendencies.
Decent people can not give up. The worst people in the world never get tired of voting for...the worst people in the world. No one can get tired or give up in voting for someone better.
I absolutely agree with you on this. But the third of this country doesn't bother to vote. Do they think that their vote is unimportant because they can't be bothered to inform themselves? Or are we a fat and lazy country, filled with entitled people who can't be bothered to vote because they can't be bothered to inform themselves?

What we have is a bunch of people who "don't get" voting. Everything else in their life is a consumer activity, pretty much. You get to select something JUST for you. You have a giant amount of choices, even if you don't have much money. You don't have to come to an agreement with a group to make one choice for everyone.
The oligarchs have funded right wing propaganda media networks to get people motivated and directed to vote for their side. There are no oligarchs on the left. There are no billionaires that are interested in doing the same for the left, because the end result would be that they pay more in taxes, their businesses would be more regulated, and they would have less wealth. That's why we're in the situation we're in.
We just need to get a segment of non-voters to "get it." Why voting is important, why it matters. But also that it isn't instant or a direct action. That's the big struggle, although with the right amount of resources we can do it.

Regardless of the partisan lean in Texas, when you compare Paxton to Talarico it's clear that they are miles apart- to Talarico's benefit. Please, Republicans, go tout Paxton with his record against the seminary student James Talarico. Anyone with any intelligence and a open mind will see that Talarico is a decent person and Paxton is scum. Now, how they vote based on their longstanding feelings toward either party is the real question.
Oh, Herschel Walker- who was completely unacceptable as a potential Senator, as Mike notes- only made it close because in GA the GOP/conservative vote always shows up, and the slightly larger Dem vote doesn't always and is SUPPRESSED. Come on, Don- this is easy to see.

Lots of California dems have moved to Texas! Was in Texas this past weekend. They are fed up with Paxton so hopefully Talarico will win!💙
Democrats need a large national turnout, Talarico needs large turnouts in the Hispanic African American & Gen Z voting groups
