Another excellent (and unfortunately frightening) article. All these people need to be held accountable!!!

Such a great post, as always. Social media plus AI together allow for these destructive crimes to be committed with disgusting ease. Unless they're both shut down (ha, if only), counting on our legal system to support the victims and punish the perpetrators is the only solution I can see. Your point about these crimes keeping good people out of politics is a smart one to emphasize. The erosion of our society and democracy is grave. Tremendous respect for the lawyers and judges who are out there fighting these cases.

More dirty and underhanded methods to get a leg up. Never truth or an explanation of their "facts". They sell it because we have weak minded people who buy it. This is going to escalate because they know it works for some people Fox News, OAN, feeds on it. We can only hope that the weak minded wake up.

Wow! Right on point. Sadly true. Thank you for your passion and work to bring change.

This is a well-written article. This administration always lies and pushes a false narrative.

I think what happened to you regarding Loomer is crazy and scary. You have been targeted by the DOJ under this awful regime.

There is an additional point. Those who make threats, esp. death threats, through anonymity on the net need to be hunted down and put away for 10-20 years. They need to be found and, indeed, many can be, if law enforcement efforts are made. Put away a few of these freaks and the rest will generally stop.

Yeah. Let's started with Trump and his lies!

It's exactly what Steve Carell's character (Mark Baum) said in the Big Short: "We live in an era of fraud in America. Not just in banking, but in government, education, religion, food, even baseball... What bothers me isn't that fraud is not nice. Or that fraud is mean. For fifteen thousand years, fraud and short sighted thinking have never, ever worked. Not once. Eventually you get caught, things go south. When the hell did we forget all that? I thought we were better than this, I really did...I just know that at the end of the day regular people are going to pay for all of this. Because they always, always do."

This was a great piece.

One problem is that decent people don’t/can’t imagine some of the diabolical tricks they do - so it’s hard to outflank them now.

I totally agree with you. It is frightening.

I know this sort of thing happens frequently in the political & celebrity spotlights. I am sorry it has happened to you & Pete & Don Lemon & Comey & Miles Taylor & on & on… And you are right. There should be accountability & consequences. People should be sued. Even an accusation can cast a permanent cloud over your reputation, no matter what the legal outcome. A reminder that this happens to other people as well (such as Davey Hearn) - people with far less money to defend themselves, pay legal fees, people without disposable income or a public platform to challenge the accusations. Best of luck to you & to everyone who has been a victim of false statements. May your accusers be identified as the liars that they are and may you be compensated for the stress, injuries, & losses you have indured.

Evidently Jesse Watters, from Fox News, hasn't joined the big MAGA pile-on onto Jon Ossoff. Waters has actually been quoted that Trump says more sleazy things about people. Who would have thought.....

Watters is now being attacked by fellow MAGAs.

When you’re 80 yrs old & live in a “senior care facility” but your mind still works, the prices of these “upgrades” becomes important. WHY can’t u show the cost up front? I’ve been shocked a few times and had to cancel. It can add up to a lot.

Thanks for keep posting about the bullshit and the fallout that happens just from some asshole posting to use Trump's line "Fake News". Hang in there Mike, stay strong and safe.

It’s been going on for years now, unfortunately. Obama warned of the divisions caused by social media in his final presidential speech. I think it may be even worse than we anticipated.

I don't understand why you and the people Laura Loomer is targeting with her conspiracy theories are suing her. It seems there are plenty of people she is attacking who could join in a lawsuit against her. We have to attack this people simply because they are getting a free ride from the media. Also the courts are the only group that is sort of willing to hold people accountable for their actions.

I meant "aren't suing her" rather than "are suing her" in the first sentence.
