Thank you so much for your assessment of the U.S. senatorial race in Texas. It’s spot on!

I voted for Talarico via mail last week. On March 3, the nation will see the aftermath of the perfect storm that’s about to hit Texas.

The re-gerrymandering of congressional districts to give Trump five more seats is going to backfire spectacularly. Republicans erroneously believed they could count on the Hispanic vote, but they will be sorely disappointed in 14 days.

They’ve lost Latinos, Independents, and persuadable Republicans.

Onward and upward! Let’s roll!

Self-indulgent misogynists like Trump cannot help themselves. Impulse control? They never heard of it and will overreact every time. He bankrupted several companies because of his own incontinent, impulsive behavior. But, don't take my word for it; just ask E. Jean Carroll or any of the numerous women he sexually assaulted.

The depths of Trump and his minion's vile behavior is only exceeded by their incompetence. There is much to learn from this, including how Trump got elected and why there is over 30% who still support him. We have a cancer that was with us from the beginning, that metastasized and is now in partial remission. There is a lot more uncomfortable work to be done to complete the cure.

Every one of you a holes who yell socialist please stop taking your Medicare or s s checks.. pay your fair share of government cost. Wake up to where this is all heading. I will meet you in hell

I tend to avoid the word "Socialist" by itself. It has been used by too many people to mean too many different things, and the worst of them declare there is an exact description of it which applies only to 'Those' people...

As described in the article, there are fascists, because that is a strategy of governance, corrupting a Democracy step by step leading it to a dictatorship.

There are "Democratic Socialists" Such as Bernie Sanders, there is 'socialism' as practiced in certain countries, each with their own variation so it is best to specify the variant with the country's name. If you get specific to the definition: "a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole." that ranges from the Communism of the USSR to the practice of the local building inspector ensuring your house is built to be safe for you to live in or the regulation that ensures your banks actually have your money available to you when you need it...

People tend to get very emotional over this word, which is curious, because in the end it is just about ownership and control and most people do not have much of that in their lives. It is a strategy that can be debated, but 'why the emotion' is what I always wonder...

How can I contribute more than $8? This is so fascinating!! I think you provide clarity to people whose trauma brings sadness and confusion! Thanks.

I think you socialist communists are nuts. Like you lost your sense of self preservation.

Kelly A's avatar

@dan You ARE talking about the T regime, correct? The fascists are emulating Russia and China, not Dems.

Judith Lacher's avatar

Specifically, how have you benefitted from this administration. What have they done to improve your life. I’d really like to know.

Hope Crescione's avatar

Something Trump brought back from the McCarthy period...RED BAITING! One of the lowest, most vicious eras in our history...right next to burning women as witches!

Lynda Phoenix's avatar

They're still burning women! They're burning down our rights!

Hope Crescione's avatar

You are absolutely correct! And if the SAVE ACT passes, as many as 69 MILLION women will lose their right to vote! The Republicans in the House already passed it! Now it's up to the Senate to stop it!

Lynda Phoenix's avatar

If they pass that act then it's way past time for women to pick up their torches and march!

Hope Crescione's avatar

Not really...Do you know the story, Lysistrata?

Judith Lacher's avatar

If you have birth certificate and marriage license, plus passport, should be ok.

Define your terms, would you?

Eddie E Hicks Sr's avatar

Who are the communist? You agree with the government shutting down speech because the pathological lying con-man trump doesn't like?

dan winright's avatar

Shouldn't be difficult. Idiots are easily amused

Mary Ann's avatar

Is ignorance really bliss? Seems like your angry name calling contradicts your blissful ignorance. I suspect you might be a Russian communist bot.

Obviously you crawled down the rabbit hole and never came back.

Danny Boy is a masochist. Every time he comes on Endless Urgency, he gets pounded on and owned. And owned especially by multiple women. That's got to hurt his sense of "Machismo."

Better go back to your safe zone at PolitiBrawl.

Judith Lacher's avatar

It appears all you’ve learned from your hero is to demean others. I asked earlier, how this administration has benefitted you personally? You haven’t answered the question.

dan winright's avatar

Tell me how bidens administration helped yours?

Judith Lacher's avatar

No, questions don’t work that way. First you respond, then I respond.

So I shared the YouTube interview with my Fox News-watching friend. I watched it as soon as it went up last night and it was already racking up views like crazy! Talarico IS a threat to this regime. They know it. I only wish Crockett would have chosen to back him and not run against him. I love her but I don’t think she can win rural Texas.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

I don't think Talarico, as a very green new senator (assuming he won), would be much threat to anyone. So I'm baffled by this. I disagree strongly about Crockett. Maybe she can't win rural Texas but neither can Talarico; they'll vote blindly for the Republican whoever it turns out to be. She COULD rack up the numbers in the big urban areas. I wish HE had dropped out and endorsed HER, the obviously more qualified candidate. But women, especially Black women, are always expected to defer to white men.

I don’t entirely disagree with you, but I know I’m hearing Republicans talk about voting for him and that’s a huge change in tone. But the GOP is concerned for sure. They started smearing him immediately. Interestingly, I am not seeing any slams by the GOP on Jasmine on my TV ads. And Talarico announced his race months before Crockett did. They were all on stage together as a team in Austin this summer and then the gerrymandering went through and she announced she was running for Senate. My question is, if she didn’t think she could win the redistricted area, how does she think she can win all of Texas? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess we’ll see what happens.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

That's not interesting — that's their strategy. The GOP WANTS Crockett to be their opponent because in their simplistic minds, they think she will be easier to beat because she's a Black woman, and they hate and demean Black women constantly. I think they are wrong, but then the GOP isn't the home of the best and brightest or they wouldn't be running Paxton. Who got in first isn't relevant. And if Talarico could only win a wildly blue state legislative district in Austin that wasn't even contested last time, what on earth makes HIM think he can win the entire state of Texas? He's from AUSTIN for Pete's sake, the part of the state people often say we should keep when we give the rest back to Mexico.

Mary Ann's avatar

That’s what Project 25 is all about.

We cannot let the fascists win. Yes, it's incredibly discouraging to witness repeatedly cognitive dissonance in action bringing this country increasingly closer to self-destruction. We, who understand and cherish democracy, must continue to resist, to speak up, ignore ignorant baiting (like the previous comment), and do the right things: show up, speak out, find allies, support and vote for democratic values.

Larry Rafey's avatar

Like Trump, Weiss continues to cut off his feet to spite his legs!

Penelope H Grover's avatar

Maybe they did it strategically...to get him more attention than Crockett, who, in my opinion, is a stronger choice. Colbert might wanna bring her onto his show ♡

The best thing we have going for ourselves is the complete idiocy of MAGA and those associated with it. The Republican ideology is dying, plain and simple. They were willing to surrender to the Tea Party in the hopes of revival. Buzz. They joined forces with Christian Nationalists. Buzz. The only thing possibly hold the base together is RACISM. I'm thrilled to see so many Black people stepping up to say "I'm willing to take on MAGA." I hope they win.

And, I'm willing to see Stephen say FUCK YOU to CBS.

Ellen Harrison's avatar

Please consider that Talerico is Dem Leadership and Dem Pack choice. Their $$ is behind him, not Crocket, even though Texas is now overwhelmingly female and people of color. Therefore, I think Dem billionaires are also behind this censorship so Talerici will get elected. He’s great, but also much more like to do Dem leadership bidding, even if it’s not good for the country. Billionaires all want the same thing, no matter their party. Go for Jasmine Crocket.

"We might actually be saved by their incompetence." That, as the Brits say, is weak tea. But is, nonetheless, a ray of light in the darkness oozing out of Mordor. Both candidates are strong. Here's to a major flip to blue in November.
