Northern neighbour here - simply some observations from my side of the border. How the heck can anyone say “well at least trump is honest about it”? He’s not honest about anything - he wouldn’t know honesty if it slapped him in his orange face! If he stood up at a podium and actually said “I don’t give a shit about the citizens of this country. I only ran to stay out of jail and to bilk the country and the population of as much money as I can. I’m only here to make money and I do it because I can and I will continue to do it. I know this is corruption and so what? There’s nothing you can do to stop me because you all gave me the keys to the kingdom”. Then a person could say he was being honest. But anyone with any degree of critical thinking skills and even a modicum of intelligence knows this will not happen. My dear neighbours, keep pushing back, stay the course, share the facts as best you can, and know that even though many of us here 🇨🇦 are choosing to boycott american products and travel, we are still watching from the cheap seats and rooting for you. And would someone, ANYONE, please make sure Pete Hoekstra finds his way home soon? The man has no business being an ambassador let alone the ambassador to Canada.

good comment...thank you neighbour....

78million americans thought that a convicted criminal, sex offender, corrupt businessman with a litany of bankruptcies to his name, as immoral as the day and night combined, a historically documented racists and anti unionist, ego maniac, is worthy of a vote...

the world changed around me and i'm left wondering why people in the wealthiest nation on earth squander their precious vote in such a way? so many people in the world don't have the right to vote, and many others have to vote in a rigged election run by a dictator in a fake democracy. where did all the intelligent people go? what happened to their ability to think for themselves? why is intelligence a 'minority' characteristic?

and then there are 'so-called-intelligent-liberals' who want to just move on and be nice to all those 78million because being nice to them will make them realize that 'love conquers hate'.... so between the 'actual brain-dead' radical right and the 'wannabe brain-dead' of the left....what hope do we the intelligent majority have????

If only there was a crystal ball. My heart and my brain both scream with pain at what is being inflicted and perpetrated against the people in your country…in some cases with the enthusiastic complicity of the elected officials. When the members of congress are more afraid of djt than of their constituents I believe that there is still hope. As Joyce Vance titled her book Giving Up is Unforgivable, giving up is indeed unforgivable. All a person can do is what they can do and sometimes all that can be is to breathe, gather strength, and persevere. All I can offer is moral support…I hope it will suffice for today.

Isn't it obvious? Trump pardoned Cuellar to protect those offering the bribe-- someone from the oil and gas industry.

Please elevate the latest grift from the shitgibbon in the oval office…

OPM blunders orchestrated by Trump are going to cost federal retirees, who receive a pension/annuity…

Trump is extorting tax dollars from federal retirees. The annual COLA increase for TY2026 is scheduled to pay out in January 2026 (as always).

The grift…

Trump added the increase on the OPM site to the final annuity payment for December 2025, but annuitants were NOT paid the additional funds on the December 2025 payment. So, you will pay taxes on money you DID NOT receive in TY2025; and your 1099R for TY2025 will be incorrect.

If you login to your OPM account, you will find the annuity check direct deposited into your account on December 1, 2025, is LESS THAN the amount documented in the payment summary on the OPM Retirement Services website.

Meaning…the 1099R for TY2025 is incorrect and could possibly push the retiree into a higher tax bracket on money, NOT received. This blatant error ensures that each annuitant pays more taxes on money they did NOT receive at the end 2025.

If you call OPM 1 (888) 767-6738, the automated number advises you of the high call volume and promptly hangs up in your face. You may opt to send a message in the online portal, but you only get 200 characters to explain the problem and you do NOT receive confirmation (as you did in the past) that your inquiry was received.

Recommendation: Exhaust all avenues to contact OPM if you are a government retiree and contact your congressman.

The below email address is another way to contact OPM:

retire@opm.gov

Or contact via USPS Mail:

Retirement Operations Center

U.S. Office of Personnel Management

Post Office Box 45

Boyers, PA 16017

This SOB is unbelievable, but the other SOBs you can thank the most is Vought, The Heritage Foundation and all the billionaires that created Project 2025.

This is a well thought out clusterfuck. 🤬

Trump has no true ideology beyond his own bank account and ego. He just got SCOTUS to approve the revised mapping. So he may not need him to switch to GOP for caucuses. Will be interesting to see … if he wins again, which should not happen given his abject criminality… if he is a Manchin democrat going forward, unofficially siding with the GOP as a payback to Trump for the pardon.

I can visualize the political cartoon of T giving the finger. I'm still waiting for the cartoon of Trump, Putin, Hitler and Neville Chamberlain dancing around a fire fueled by Europe with Ukraine showing deep in the fire.

Cuellar is one of those bad Dems, what we call a DINO. He's against a woman's right to choose, he votes too often with the Republicans. I would not be surprised at all if trump made a deal with him to switch parties in exchange for the pardon. Trump does nothing unless he gets something out of it. He's transactional and there's always a payoff for him. There was a chance for Cuellar to be primaried a few years ago but Nancy Pelosi endorsed him.

everything about this criminal in the white house is a middle finger to the world. he has the power to do what he wants, supported by his billionaire gang and the putin-style-rubber-stamp-congress and now the supreme court with their new allegiance to an unamerican constitution based on dictator law.

all the brain-dead/koolaid-lobotomized/greedy-selfish-wealthy 78million trump voters enabled this. they cannot claim to not see what he is doing (killing narco-terrorists in boats while pardoning a convicted criminal narco-terrorist honduran president who bribed trump with $millions of narco money)...even someone with half a brain can work that out....

my question is....why isn't anyone in the opposition creating simple slogans about this and advertising it on any and every platform?

trump kills narco-terrorists in boats, and pardons convicted honduran narco terrorist. you think bribe money from drug cartels is ok?

trump pardons cryptocurrency CEO criminal who helped trump family make billions. you think presidential corruption is ok?

and the democrats should be making simple statements like:

you want medicaid - vote democrat

you want expensive or zero health insurance - vote republican

you believe in our great american constitution and democracy - vote democrat

you believe in a dictatorship and military rule - vote republican.

you want less pollution and better health and food safety - vote democrat

you want more extreme and deadly climate change - vote republican

you want an inclusive society of all hard working ethnicities and cultures - vote democrat

you want a white supremist dictatorship - vote republican

you want your children to be healthy and safe - vote democrat for ALL children

you want only large corporations and billionaires to be healthy and safe - vote republican

i am educated enough that i can spend time researching and reading long articles.

unfortunately, the state of our society shows i am a minority.

So…..go with a majority strategy...

short sentences

deny. delay. depose

demonize the radical right

'play' the victim

repeat. repeat. Repeat

but i never hold my breath that any establishment politician or establishment news media will ever stick their heads out and be counted as really on the side of 'we the people'....

there are very few members of congress that i would trust to put 'we the people' before their ability to increase their wealth while on the congressional gravy train....

The rationale that I've heard, which I think is plausible, is that Trump has only one constant in his ethos: that he has been endlessly persecuted via corruption charges. So anyone facing corruption charges is, in Trump's world view, an inherently sympathetic figure.
