I think Substack Democrats overstate pretty much everything about Trump. Even those I agree with on almost everything make statements and claims that are not supported by any irrefutable facts. You're right, Trump doesn't care about anything but himself and even if there is a wave election it won't threaten him. Democrats can impeach him, but it won't result in conviction. If a Democratic House majority impeaches Trump, but Republicans still control the Senate, I expect them to do what Democrats did with Biden -- not hold a trial. Even if there is a trial, he won't be removed from office and that is all he cares about.
Is Trump dying? Aren't we all? I have no idea what Trump's actual physical condition is. He's got bruises on the backs of his hands. I doubt that will be fatal. He has edema in his legs and feet. So, do millions of Americans. The one thing that does seem to be seriously wrong is his brain, but he's an idiot and he's been one for a very long time. One question we don't know the answer to is simply is there any condition short of Trump being in a coma or dead that would actually cause the GOP to remove him from office. For those who don't know presidential history, Woodrow Wilson was very ill in his second term and it is widely believed that his wife and aides ran the presidency for him. But to some extent, minus the wife, that is what is happening already with Trump. He seems far more interested in his ballroom, the Kennedy Center, his name and or image on currency, passports, and everything thing else than he does in ending the war with Iran.
