As a fellow Pennsylvania Democrat, I too am deeply disappointed with John Fetterman. While he's certainly been better than Dr. Oz would have been, he's fallen under the spell of the Fox crowd and that is sad.

(He's ranked 47th.) But McCormick's score is .12% and he is in a tie for 71st place — dead last! WHO is a RINO? McCormick is almost 100% in lockstep with his party. God, people are so ignorant. It's all "vibes" not facts. Unfortunately our side can be equally ignorant adoring or attacking our candidates and elected officials based on those same "vibes."

While you're not quite right about how often he votes the progressive line — it's more like 70% now (He's been steadily falling, fell below Jeanne Shaheen as the Senate's most conservative Democrat months ago) — it's still way too high for him to have any place in the Republican caucus. He is ranked about 50 points more progressive than Susie Concern, the most "liberal" Republican. His voting record is closer to Elizabeth Warren's, the most progressive Democrat in the Senate.
As for your concern that he'd flip to vote for a GOP Supreme Court appointee, I'm not so sure. We can't tell if that's one of his little hobby horses, like Israel, or if he'd vote with Democrats as he does 70% of the time because he hasn't yet voted on a Supreme Court appointee.
I think your assessment of why Pennsylvania Republicans rate him so high is accurate: they know nothing about his voting record in the Senate. They just know he annoys Democrats. But they would hate him if he changed parties unless he changed the vast majority of his votes. And he's not going to be their candidate next time he runs (preferably doesn't run!) because all of the stuff they don't agree with would come out and eliminate him in the primary. My guess is he retires and takes a paycheck from some rightwing news outlet.

Although it is legal, it infuriates the voters who supported them, and they often go on to lose elections they changed their party allegiance to run in because their voters view them as traitors to the democratic process.
Consider the recent story on his last chief of staff to resign. Embedded in the back story is the appearance of an individual who operates in Fetterman's office without an official portfolio but who is described as a scholar of Israeli history and a connected fundraiser. It was reported that this person sat in on ALL of Fetterman's calls/meetings, and sometimes was the only staff/nonstaff attendee. In my era we would have marked this person as a MINDER, someone who is ensuring that outside interests take precedence and are always being advanced. Typically a minder is placed once control of the player is privately established, a secret perhaps which public revelation would destroy the player's position. Would this meet your smell test?
Fetterman enjoys being a spectacle. The refusal to dress for the occasion, the Fox appearances; they're more important to him than actually being a Senator.

Maybe concentrate on winning elections in November and deal with who is supporting who later. Hopefully you progressives do want the Dems to retake at least the House in November?
