Hey folks,
I joined Newsmax to talk about sanctuary cities and why Republicans are once again choosing the wrong fight at exactly the wrong moment. One of the oldest rules in politics is that whoever defines the battlefield usually wins. Republicans figured that out on the border, but they’ve completely lost the plot on immigration since then.
Instead of focusing on security and order, they’ve leaned into chaos: ICE raids, sanctuary city hysteria, and overreach that puts federal power ahead of common sense. Voters can feel the difference, and they don’t like it.
There is a mainstream position here—secure the border, protect communities, give law-abiding people a path forward, and remove violent criminals. The problem is that Trump and his allies can’t—or won’t—land there.
That’s why an issue Republicans thought was a strength is now turning into a liability.
