Adam Schiff went to the north east in California and spoke with Republicans and it was amazing - they learned that Democrats are real :)

A reminder that Dems need to truly "meet the voters where they are," regardless of party.

In the event trump wins and we loose is there any way individual states can leave the U s and become individual small countries.

There are constitutional provisions against that but red states like Texas have talked about leaving for decades, so Blue states need to put their minds, wills & resources to this. Would be even better if Blue states can convince Canada 🇨🇦 to unite with Blue states. Blue states are 56% of the nations gdp, 4 purple states (Nv,Pa,Wi,Ga) are 8.5%, 🇺🇸 territories plus overseas residents about .5%. That means all Red states contribute just 35%, which is very little for 24-25 states

i've suggested this to gavin, tina and bob.....start with an independent Western America (CA, OR, WA) and add another independent country NE America (NJ up to ME). both will be powerhouse economies. the rest will sort out over time. not sure about the 'be part of canada' thing...even though democratic, we are very proud americans :)

I am aghast at the ego Trump has to demolish the beautiful East Wing of the White House. It is the PEOPLES house, not his. When he cemented the Rose Garden it was horrific, but this…

Oh, by the way, Bernie Sanders would have won! Did you hear his incredible speech on No Kings in Washington DC!

I went to see him and AOC in Denver and watched him on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night, where I really got a better understanding. Talk about how a candidates positioning and message and how they reach matters. In 2015 I knew nothing about him, but somehow the media that reached me convinced me he was too radical. On the topic of knowing a candidate, i was obviously ill informed, or lazy then. My comment today to have Cat on your Show was not to say you were putting her down, and I agree 100% know a candidate, but maybe if you meet her face to face you'll get answers. And my comments on your picture, and please take this in the way I mean. Your face i see when you are live has such an empathetic good looking guy look. Just a smart dear good looking down to earth man. Your substack picture, while showing a good looking smart man, does not tell the rest of the picture that I see when I watch your face being concerned about the schools nearby. I just think you could have a picture that better depicts that deep empathetic soul you have going on in those eyes. I wouldn't make this kind of comment to anybody else, but you know optics and obviously have shown to me your real deep, deep commitment to helping us get our country back on track.

The idea that anyone believed or still believes that a septugenerian, Jewish socialist ("...but he's a Democratic Socialist!" LoL) could ever be POTUS then or now, in this America, still makes me laugh out loud. And I would have voted and volunteered for Bernie, no problem.

If Shakespeare were alive today, instead of that line by Polonius? that says neither a borrower nor a lender be, would be neither a Republican nor a Democrat be… I have voted Democrat very few times in my life… for Dennis Kucinich, who would have won, and whom they tried to murder, for Bernie and for Barack Obama, because I never thought they would elect a Black man. But by the sixth month of his presidency, he had betrayed ALL his campaign promises.

In other countries third parties are not only allowed, but if they have a substantial amount of votes, they get something for it… There is NOTHING in the constitution that limits parties to two parties, or that states that they can only be Democrats or Republicans.

I am older than you, have been a lawyer and a political activist most of my life. This country was founded on genocide and racial abuse. It hasn’t changed a bit, but only gotten worse. I represented tenants and immigrants in my practice but it’s always the same… the rich get richer on the backs of the poor. So sorry, but for the rest of the world, particularly for the Global South, the “dream” has generally been a nightmare. Green Party, People’s Party, anything but the two-headed hydra who controls everything.

And that includes constant war and genocide against the people that don’t “belong.”

Study history, please. Did you know that torture is on the curriculum of the United States Army? I was an interpreter for torture survivors at School of the Americas Watch, a movement against the so-called School of the Americas, for free. They have now changed their name to Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation… but they are still promoting coups and countercoups…

Anyway, these are good reports you are doing and I commend you for doing them, but as I told someone recently, your heroes are not my heroes…

These are wonderful. I was born in Cuba in 1949, left at the age of 11 because my mother and stepfather decided to leave (I wouldn’t have left) and I would like to go back.

I am living in corrupt California, am a retired attorney (New Jersey) and an ordained woman priest. Cuba is NOT a terrorist nation and we have one of the best medical schools in the planet, and incredible medicine, but we have ALWAYS been abused by the United States (of Atrocities).

I have been arrested again and again for civil disobedience.

I disagree with you about the Democratic Party. Right now they are doing better than the Republicans, but in general they have supported corrupt politicians and promised things during campaigns and then never followed through…

How do we fix any of this? I’m thinking of moving to Mexico because I love their new president.

Some things I will say about Graham Platner… after his deployments he was in a dark place and through hard work and positive life changes he came to a place of hope and action. We are in a time of darkness and are wanting to move to a place of hope. So, he has walked the road we are on. Sure, he has some work to do so that people can get to know him…and needs to address these recent revelations. I do think the fact that he is holding over 20 town halls across the state of Maine is a good sign. Big crowds are showing up. He is taking questions and addressing issues with honestly and humility. The campaign is making phone calls to voters asking them what THEIR concerns are… what issues are important to THEM, then reading back notes they took to make sure that they didn’t miss anything. That’s refreshing to me. Seems like he’s more than an “internet candidate.” There is a lot of on the ground work here in Maine. It’s still 8 months to the primary so it will be interesting.

In a time of denying reality and doubling down in politics, it’s good to see accountability. This bunch of opposition and the response makes me think he will be the fighter Maine needs.
