Mike, every single thing you said is true! I want to scream it out at everyone or anyone who will listen! I want to know how do we put the "fear of God" in Trump and all his crazies? I don't EVER want to feel numb to all this crap going on. I want to stay angry and fight for our democracy and our country. But like many others, I just don't know what to do. I feel very small and unimportant in this country that now praises the bad guys and puts the good guys in jail or detention centers. What are we supposed to do other than voting and contacting our senators and congressmen?
Have faith my friend. God will put his own fear into them. It talks about the heavens cracking and opening so the legions of demons can be unleashed on the corrupt and will kick their ASSES. Just keep your hearts pure and truthful and you will be okay, as will we all.

It, and its evil and ugly pitbull, homohatred, have been an essential feature in conservative christianity— and islam, and judaism— for 1400-2000 years. The Southern Baptists just decided—AGAIN!!!— that wimmens aren’t really suitable to deliver the word-o-god.
And abuse? Also part and parcel of the entire world view. it used to be impossible—legally— for a man to rape his wife. Kids get sexually abused, and the religious world rushes in to protect the abusers. And worse— they want to make sure that OTHER people are blamed. Childhood beauty pageants, where little girls are tarted up with fake breasts and Melanoma-style swimsuits, paraded in front of righteous heterosexual men for their righteous heterosexual delectation—AIN’T IT ADORABLE???- and it’s considered wholesome. Yet a man in a dress reading to children with their parents present is considered to be sexualizing children. And the party of personal freedom that brings you this is now telling adults what they may wear in public.

All over the country people stand on corners, on bridges, in front of ICE and say We Are Not Numb. Follow Indivisible, 50501, National Visibility Brigade, Womens' March, and many workers groups. We are not numb, we are giving up large portions of our lives to scream.
