The way I see it, the invasion of one state by another is a call to arms. I see an armed clash of National Guards. Also, the gerrymander fight is on. There is a new playbook. The old rules have been struck down by the Supreme Court. We need to change the gears here as fast as possible for deadly preemptive strikes. Newsom has moved out on this already. Who is next? Hochul. Where are you? Pritzker. What are you doing?
I think these conversations are so important. I do think the little things, meditation washing dishes, yoga, getting outside, like you said being mindful.
I have no friends that are Trumpers any longer. I know that they, despite whatever they show to the world, they are not good people. I just can't do it. I keep thinking of all the German people who didn't want to get involved, or who supported Hitler.
Katie you are a super busy person so that you have to stop just one thing that is causing you to be harassed. Mike you too are super busy so stop 1 thing that stresses you out. At least for a week or 2.
Trump’s Ukraine shift: US air & intel support pledged, but is it reliable? FT reveals a pivot amid Russian drone threats & European troop plans. Will state rights debates, often tied to federal overreach, shape US policy consistency?
I am sure that the people who have gone into physical combat (war) have had to harden themselves-- protect the heart of their being to be able to do what they were being called on to do (thinking in particular about WWII, where Allied troops fought against Evil).
Yes, it is a loss to learn that someone I liked, who liked me, could go into the poisonous fog of Trumpworld. I asked one woman-- churchgoer, sang in choir, etc-- to tell me how a Christian could support a man who so obviously relished being cruel? I never got an answer. I don't think there is one.
From Asheville, NC. I can empathize with you, Mike, about making friends in a new environment. Then making friends who truly matter. Try being single and moving every 2-4 years and doing that. Try doing it over 65!
You two, and anyone fighting the good fight, are like a boss I used to have who said "Give all the important projects to your busiest people." Why? Because those are the people who get shit done! But these are also the people who organizations burn out. Katie looks really tired and needs some down time. Everyone has a certain "capacity" before your body starts pushing back. I think Katie's at that point. Katie's "cutting the cord" is imperative for her survival. She only has so much capacity and she's at her limit and must cut from it anyone who's draining her energy. It's boundary setting for self preservation. An important topic for remaining resilient. Mike, you seem to already have been through it.
I thank you both from the bottom of my heart for what you do, but please, don't sacrifice yourselves or your families for it! We thank you and appreciate you both for all your talents and energy you bring to this fight!
You both are just lovely human beings thank you for slowing it down. I have also been feeling the burnout and just a visceral reaction to watching the news and hearing “Canks” speak.
💕love to both of you. Stay safe and thank you for all you do.

Love this, thanks Mike and Katie

Seattle. Armed men of war are not allowed in the streets of America.
Republicans are a party of cruelty and hate!!!
I miss the days of politics not being top of mind! It's mentally exhausting. Katie, just listening to your past few days made me tired, damn.
Absolutely!! I'm never not hyper vigilant

This is wartime. And you are answering the call to service. And painful sacrifices are asked/ taken from you.
I wonder if it would help you to talk with some combat veteran/s who have been deployed for long periods, away from their families. Just a thought.
You're doing what you can. It's ALL anyone can do!
