And a president and Congress who protect pedophiles, rapists, adulterers, and other people in power that prey on vulnerable people. It’s disgusting.

100% Mike, the Tate brothers should already be rotting in prison.

Why in the hell aren't they in prison???

I deeply admire your passion on this, Mike, and your demand that a Democrat-controlled Congress mount a serious and determined investigation of the entire corrupt Trump enterprise. Sadly, Mike, the reality is that the Trump administration, protected by its DOJ, will stonewall the whole thing, refusing to produce witnesses, documents and whatever else, as they continue to do with the Epstein investigation. Court orders will be issued against them which they will ignore and appeal as they again pursue their strategy of running out the clock. Nothing of real value will be achieved unless the Dems regain control of the Presidency and the DOJ in 2028. If they do not, our democracy may be truly doomed by the votes of the people for whose self-governance that system was created.

Lots of "real value" will be achieved, setting the stage for 2028. Sitting around moaning in the meantime won't help bring about victory in 2028.

Ellie Leonard (noted authority on the Epstein Files) once made a comment that has stuck with me regarding the Epstein Class. The topic of Harvey Weinstein came up, and she noted that Weinstein, although rich, "WAS NOT RICH ENOUGH". The men in the Epstein Files who helped financially, helped in trafficking and/or partook are in the multimillionaire to billionaire club. IMO, the fix for Maxwell's pardon was done in that two-day meeting she had with blanche. In other words, keep what you know silent and we will get back to you regarding a pardon. Start with the Tates and then continue through all of the trump family and then all of his regime. Make them all accountable.

I so appreciate the independent commentators like you, Mike Nellis, in this awful time. It's hard to look at the circumstances of this situation without feeling sickened, but you have your eye on what this situation says about the big picture and, specifically, this administration. We must all keep our eyes on the big picture--holding fast to our country and our democracy--as you have done. Keep pushing, everyone.

Of course it's an attempt to influence and corrupt the U.S. government! It's already clearly for sale, and many of its members are also sex offenders who have already accessed the bodies of underage youngsters. They should already be in jail for their crimes, starting with the rapist-in-chief! What is Congress waiting for...or are they also members of this disgusting club?

American democracy needs an ethical structure and moral compass. The disgusting men in power and the criminals they protect are destroying us from the inside out. What's appalling is how many white men and willing women support their criminal behavior, racism and cruelty.

The problem is that they have customers.

Thanks for covering these broken men. I haven’t seen coverage about it. Anyone who protects them are criminals too.

Isn’t Trump just going to pardon them all on his way out the door?

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

He can't pardon them if they're in the UK, which is why we need to hope they get extradited.

Sholom Simon's avatar

Agreed -- but all the other actors in this (e.g., his extended family, and all the other enablers of this) will, I would guess, get pardoned.

They need to rot in prison. I can't imagine them ever getting out. They are evil

I’m so appreciative of the posts and videos you do Mike. I agree 100% with what you wrote. The Tate Brothers need to be held accountable. Everyone involved with this administration needs to be made responsible and tell what they know about the corruption. I look forward to when there is accountability in the government and we can get answers to the corruption and wrongdoing.

We not only need that the Democrats investigate all the corruption, but also start impeachment proceedings on day one.

Steve's avatar

"start impeachment proceedings on day one....." That was tried twice during Trump's first term and did not work either time. What has changed that would give Republican senators cover to convict, assuming the Dems take back the House?

Otherwise, don't give the far right wing blogosphere opportunities to paint Trump as a put-upon martyr. Investigations...maybe, depending on the topic. Impeachment...likely no.

Tater-tots about to be deep fried and way past time. Président Mr. Potato Head and all his little spuds need to be whipped and mashed. I apologize for the violent imagery as I used to be a nice Catholic school grad but this stuff makes me really pissed off!

I am afraid that, when the Trump Mafia will actually be made accountable for their misdeeds, there will be a lot of perjury going on.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Good. That will lengthen their sentences.
