Imagine running for office—just weeks from Election Day—and finding out the federal government handed your Social Security number, home address, and insurance records to your political opponent. That’s what just happened to Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey.
The depths to which the Trump administration will go to attack political opponents have no bottom. Sherrill is a decorated veteran who’s served this country proudly. And Trump’s National Archives handed her Social Security number and private information to her Republican opponent, Jack Ciattarelli. Weeks before the election.
The race is close. Off year governor’s races usually are. I worked the last one—Governor Murphy barely squeaked by. And they know this kind of sensitive info, leaked by the federal government, could tip the scales. That’s how low they’re willing to go. It’s wrong, and it’s disgusting.
The headlines will be glued to Comey’s indictment or Trump sending feds to raid John Bolton’s house. But it’s this kind of insidious abuse that that is beneath the surface that’s’s most dangerous—the political operatives Trump has salted into the machinery of government. These are people who wake up angry, obsessed with grievance, totally unfit for the jobs they hold. They don’t give a damn about your safety, your well-being, or the strength of the country they claim to serve. They’re not protecting democracy or improve your life—they’re rotting this country from the inside. And every accusation they make? It’s projection.
For years they’ve screamed about Democrats “weaponizing” government. Meanwhile, they’re the ones turning it into a tool of punishment. The sanctity of public service? Gone. The line between governance and vengeance? Gone.
Now look—the federal government’s never been perfect. It’s slow, flawed, often fails regular people while serving the elitre. But for the most part, it tried at least try to keep the vast majority of Americans safe. There were some boundaries. But now? We’ve got Pete Hegseth at Defense, Kash Patel at the FBI, Pam Bondi at Justice—each one an unqualified political hitman, not a public servant. Each one actively destroying the very thing they swore to defend.
And who’s running the National Archives now, by the way? Marco Rubio. Apparently he’s picked up more gigs than the average American working three part-time jobs just to survive in Trump’s economy.
This is dangerous. If they’ll violate the privacy of a high-profile gubernatorial candidate, what do you think they’ll do to you? To your information? The same stuff they’re handing off to DOGE, to Elon Musk, to Trump’s crooked inner circle—guys like “Big Balls” and the rest of the grifters who gutted the government, slashing critical programs, sabotaging services, even cutting cancer research for kids.
This isn’t government. It’s an empire of cruelty, run by people who see you as expendable. They don’t care about you, me, or anyone who isn’t a billionaire or part of their political circle. They’re not here to help. They’re here to punish.
Look at Trump’s new tariffs: a 100% tax on imported pharmaceuticals. Who gets crushed by that? Not the rich. Not Trump’s donors. Regular people—seniors already choosing between groceries and meds. They know it. They just don’t care.
Because this is how they use power: weaponize it. Punish the opposition. Keep you afraid. Rig elections they can’t win fairly.
It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Here’s the hard truth: no one is coming to save us. It’s on every single one of us to show up, speak out, and push back. Every time they pull this shit. But Trump and MAGA world will keep pretending they have a mandate. They’ll lie about winning in a “landslide" and we cannot let them gaslight the country into thinking this is what people voted for—not even the ones who pulled the lever for him.
And while they play this game, millions of Americans don’t have the luxury of “tuning out.” They’re living through the consequences. Right now.

Women turned away from hospitals during medical emergencies.
College kids terrified to graduate and the job market.
So what do we do? We speak up. We call it out. We fight through the numbness, through the fatigue, through the despair—because that’s exactly what they’re counting on: our silence.
