Hey folks,

Holy shit. What an election night.

I joined Don Lemon to break down a massive night for Democrats, from Texas and South Carolina to Michigan, Georgia, and state legislatures across the country. After years of watching Trump and MAGA dominate our politics, it finally feels like the momentum is shifting.

But here’s the thing: Winning is just the beginning. Now Democrats have to deliver.

  • [00:01:04] We celebrate the Democratic victories across the country, including major gains in state governments, and talk about why this election could fundamentally reshape the political map heading into 2028.

  • [00:04:01] Ken Paxton’s defeat, Annie Andrews’ victory in South Carolina, and Democratic breakthroughs in Texas have us asking whether Trump’s own candidate choices helped bring about this Republican collapse.

  • [00:06:02] We dig into Abdul El-Sayed’s Michigan victory, Peggy Flanagan’s performance, and why Democrats need to stop looking for excuses to fight each other after a historic night.

  • [00:09:48] I lay out my two-part plan for the new Democratic Congress: aggressively investigate potential Trump administration corruption while passing simple, popular bills that force Republicans to show voters where they stand.

  • [00:13:43] We get to the bigger fight: breaking up concentrated wealth and power, confronting corporate influence, holding Democrats accountable too, and making sure voters actually feel the benefits of Democratic leadership.

This conversation is about the 2026 midterm election results, Trump’s weakening grip on power, Democratic victories in unexpected places, and the extraordinary opportunity now sitting in front of our party.

I’m thrilled. I’m relieved. And for the first time in a long time, I’m feeling genuinely optimistic about where we’re headed.

But I don’t want Democrats to confuse a great election night with a mandate to go back to business as usual. Americans are hurting. They want lower costs, better healthcare, an end to corruption, and a government that actually gives a damn about them.

That means real investigations. Real legislation. Real accountability. And yes, holding our own side to the same standards.

If you believe this moment demands more than celebrating a victory, and you want independent media that will keep pushing Democrats to deliver, help me build it.
